Automatic Sound Leveling (ASL)

My Corolla LE with 6 CD changer has Automatic Sound Leveling (ASL), which is described in the operator's manual, but who reads the manual unless you are looking for something specific. I saw this feature mentioned in the sales literature, but I never saw it so I figured it was a misprint. But low and behold the ASL feature is found by pushing the tuning button on the radio to bass, treble, balance, etcl. The last option when you cycle through is ASL. ASL increases volume as you go faster to keep the music above the increasing noise levels. Likewise, it decreases volume as you slow down. Just thought some other people might have overlooked this feature too, so now you know.

ASL will only boost LOW, MIDS or HIGHS depending on what you select.

Yeah knew that one.

On the S model- power windows still function around 30 secs after key is removed from ignition and no doors are opened. Doors auto lock after about 40 secs if unlocked via remote and no doors are opened.

No, it boosts the volume across the board, how much it boosts it by is what you're choosing.
