USA Installed an AVIC-Z110BT

Installed my Pioneer head unit today.

XM Unit in trunk on pass side.

Rear pass side door sill.

Front pass side door sill.

Trim off and stock radio out.

Another dash shot.

From Drivers door.

Glove box.

Better glove box pic.

XM harness ran from trunk to dash.

Adapter to use OEM roof sat antenna.
http://www.tss-radio.com/advanced_se...A12M&x=19&y=12

VSS is purple wire. Also wires for steering wheel controls.

Z110BT.

Asked my son to get a DVD to test out unit and he brings Monsters Inc.

Another.

Scosche trim plate.

Trim plate color match is perfect.

I'm still testing the PAC SWI-PS steering wheel interface. Crutchfield said it would not work. So far I have Volume, Seek and mode. I have not checked if it works the CD yet.

Very nice install! Where did you place the GPS receiver, up front or in the rear? Do you have the JBL package with your model?

Where did you place the microphone? I wish, for those with with bluetooth already, that the system would plug into the existing wiring.

Where did you locate the main wire to connect the 'car speed signal input'? Also, where did you locate the main wire for the 'on/off of parking brake'?

Lastly, did you have to connect to a 'Reverse gear signal input' for the GPS or is this for the rear view camera? I appreciate the time you took to post and I appreciate any responses.

Derek

P.S. I am thinking of purchasing a GPS/DVD System. I have the JBL package with bluetooth. I dislike the GPS's you see mounted in the windshields plus I would like a DVD player. I did see this radio will connect to the JBL via separately purchased kit, also to the steering controls.

The receiver is built into the head unit. The antenna I mounted on the inside windshield behind the rear view mirror. The wire is ran under the dash and up the pass side "A" Pillar under the front of the head liner.

I ran the mic wire from the unit up the steering column and the mic is on the bottom of the cluster.

The VSS wire is the purple wire in the 20 pin radio harness along with the steering wheel control wires. It's in my pics.

Instruction say to hook wire to reverse light so I did.

looks good

Awesome, I was looking into getting this model.. is this something Bestbuy would do for their $49 installation fee... or am I going to have to do this myself pay more?

How much would crutchfield usually charge

I brought everything except the antenna adapter from Crutchfield. I could have gotten the parts cheaper but their customer service and tech support are worth a little extra. The atenna adapter was purchesed here. $68
http://www.tss-radio.com/advanced_se...A12M&x=19&y=12

and the rest

Head unit $1599.99

XM Unit $99.99

Steering wheel interface $74.99

USA installing AVIC-Z110BT in 2010 Toyota Corolla

Hey Steve376,
I had a couple of questions. I have a 2010 Toyota Corolla and I just bought the AVIC-Z110BT. Your installation looks great. I was thinking of getting the Schoshe black kit, does it match the color of the car interior? because its more of a charcoal black not black black.

Also does the SWIPS adapter work or is there a better one I should get to maintain the steering wheel controls? I only have volume changing, mode, and track changing controls.

Also The factory auxiliary input is there any way of salvaging that? I wanna still be able to use it in case I wanna hook my blackberry up to the pioneer system to listen to music or pandora.

And where do you advise to put the microphone, and antenna?
thanks man i hope to hear from you soon

I have an AVIC-F90BT and the PAC SWI-PS works great with it.

Did you do the bypass so you can watch DVDs and enter nav stuff while you're driving? (I'm not condoning anything)

Theres a lot of modding info at AVIC411.com if you're interested.
