TRD Parts

Does anyone have experience with the TRD quickshifter? I know it won't void the warranty (I have the extended 6 year). Does is reduce height at all?

I've seen the TWM one and it looks like it works great, my only worry is installation (I do not have the time at all) and warranty. I know for sure the TRD won't void the warranty. I paid for the extended 6 year warranty, I don't want to mess that up.

Also I am looking to do the TRD rear sway bar at the same time. Possibly front strut brace as well? Any tips would be excellent. (TRD springs and TRD 18" silver 5 spokes in the spring!)

Some guy with the XRS models have had some issues with it. do a search. There is a better one out there that guys have been buying that does have a shorter lever. The TRD one doesn't change the stock lever height.

The TRD short shifter gets mounted on the transmission side of the cables, as such the interior of the car isn't even touched when it gets installed.

I have had zero issues with mine.

Yes, the throw is quite a bit shorter.

I have the TRD one and its ok you get use to it after a while mine dosent give me any problems but if I could do it all over again I would have got the TWM. The TRD dosent lower the shifter height and its a pretty big difference over stock but its not like WOW this is a short throw. I've had it since October and I've even thought about buying the TWM now cause i'm not really satisfied with it...

Does anyone know if there is a short shift kit for the 1.8?

Pretty sure the TWM works as well since it is the same trans setup. The TRD works with both, so I don't see why TWM wouldn't.

No, the TRD one only works on the 2.4L, and the transmission setup is NOT the same between the two.

That being said, I believe the TWM replaces parts inside the car, instead of at the transmission end (like older TRD quickshifters used to), so it will probably work with both the 1.8L and 2.4L, but don't take my word for it. I'd ask TWM before ordering, or get confirmation from someone here on the boards before you decide to go for it.
