Purchased 2010 Corolla LE

Hello Members,

I'm new to the forum. I just purchased 2010 Corolla LE.

I was thinking about hardwiring my V1 in to the fuse box by using a add-a-circuit. Where is fuse box inside the car?

Also, thinking about tinting the windows - any recommendations

Thank's

hey man, welcome to TN and congrads on ur purchase. i've got a V1 as well, and i was going to hardwire it but got lazy lol. you dont really need to use the add-a-circuit, just use the wire from ur cig lighter using the clip supplied with it to tap into the car's power. thats what i wanted to do but now its cold and i might wait until summer to do it. i also got the concealed display but its tough to decide where to mount it, there's no place except rite in front of the guages.

where are you mounting ur v1 on the windshield because i'm having a tough time deciding because of the suction cups don't stick to the dot matrix on the windshield. I want a stealth install, so i ahve think about how i'm going to rum the wire too. I want to hardwire it in a way that wouldn't void the warrenty

i used to mount it half way down the windshield, but recently i purchsed a blendmount, its a mounting bracket that mounts on your rearview mirror so you dont need suction cups. and its easier that way to run the hardwire too. Any way you use to hardwire (or run your wire) will not void your warranty. best way is to run it through the top, along the side pillars and into the fuse box OR into and behind your centre dash (you will have to remove the trip pieces and all to access the cig lighter if thats what ur using for power).

i am having a more tough time deciding where to put my concealed display ! lol.

I would not recommend blendmount because you want a stealth install not a install that guy behind u can see or a LEO can see the blinking lights when ur V1 is going off. It's a bad idea trust me. I was thinking about using the 3M double stick and mount it on the dot matrix and so on... I'm still doing more research... I will let you know if i can come up with a better idea.

thats what i have the concealed display for rite . even then , i've got 5% limo tints on my back windows, no one can see anything inside from behind.

Having tints does help...but if u r going for the stealth install i would reconsider the placement because it's clearly visible for the LEO next to u or taking it off when a LEo pulls you over won't be easy or u might night have enough time to react.

You want to install in a place it's not rreally obivious and if a LEO does pull u over the LEO can't see ur RD from standing next to your car. It could easily go from a warning to ticket.
