Mmmmm... so I'm going over the mod options and here is where I'm stuck.
Should I "go for it" and slap on some Tein S springs, some 8", 35ET wheels in black or gunmetal, Tenzo DC-5's? or Konig Runaways? Throw an intake and Magnaflow muffler on it? Some tint?
The wheels weigh 21-22 lbs and the 225mm tire will provide a little extra drag and the mod might be a hit on efficiency. Total wheel/tire weight would be 21-22+ 22-23= 43-45lbs.
Then the practical side pops up on my shoulder says Go with the 17" x 7 et40 Konig Daylite (14.2 lbs) in black/yellow time attack stripe or the 17" x 7 5Zigen HOT's (15.5lbs) in black and throw a set of General Exclaim UHP 215/45-17 (18 lbs) on there for a total wheel/tire weight of 33.5lbs. That's a 10+ lb. weight reduction per wheel. And go with the Eibach OR Tein H Tech springs for 1.5-1.7" drop.
So the thoughts start boiling... the 17's I've selected would only give 5mm more "extension" compared to my 16's... they'd be really TUCKED. What's the dim's on the XRS wheels?
The 18's I've selected would push the rim near the fender lip, nearly FLUSH.
One option would look cool and kinda' OEM and the other would look more "Fast and Furious"... Will I feel "silly" driving the FandF car? I'm 2x the age of most of you, lol... or will I be disappointed with the "safer" version?
opinions?

Do black wheels even look "right"? Most of the cars with black wheels look like spray painted steelies from more than 20' away...
This is the Konig Runaway, it looks like a replica of a Volk wheel... 18 x 8 35ET
and how would I tie in the yellow stripe? Yellow painted calipers? 14.2lb Konig Daylite 40ET
how about gold? Magnetic Gray with 14.5lb gold wheels, the 17 x 7 size 40ET??
the matte black JDM look?
add a little detail, gloss black and polished lip?
18 x 8, 35ET the tenzo's are probably the most agressive
or listen to the BUDGET and get the $300 per SET G Games Kubira wheels... 18 x 7.5 42ET that weigh in at 21lb??

I love my K-Sport 2" drop. Amazingly good ride even with 18s. Haven't scraped anything except the mudflap that hangs from the innerfender/splash shield. I think that would be a different story if I got the Tein S-Techs.
As I like to say though... It's your car. When you customize it you are customizing it for you. The rest of us on here will not be driving it. You will! So do what you like with it!
Well i'm probably 1/2 your age (assuming...) and I went the safe route. TRD Springs, FSB, RSB... which gives a modest drop. Then I kept my OEM 17" rims, but with upgraded rubber.
In the next week or so i'm tossing a Custom Magnaflow Exhaust set up on it with a Tip to give it an OEM look instead of the Fart Can look where the muffler is pushed up against the rear Bumper. I've also done the drop-in TRD air filter with the modded intake.
My route is very low-key, but looks different enough that when I park beside another XRS that is stock, my car looks more aggressive, and probably hits the corners a bit better. & a V-pattern summer rubber never hurts. Hankook V12 Ventus Evo rubber is my choice for summer, and Michelin Xi2 for winter.
What ever route you take though... GET GUNMETAL NOT BLACK... Gunmetal looks good on the Magnetic Grey Rolla's.
Both options are good, it all depends on how much you want to mod your car. If you want a car that screams modded do Option A (Well it wont be as bad as a ricer but you know what I mean)... If you want a more low-key car go Option B. Both will look good.
I vote for the 5 Zigen FN01-RC Hot Versions...you can special order them on Discount Tire Direct with free shipping and get $50 back also. The 17s cost just under $800 shipped w/o any of the junk that upsale stuff, so the 18s would be around that price range.

I'm leaning "going safe"... but I just havent found any 17" GMetal wheels I like... the G Games 17's are OK and cheap...
I've been reading about those Hankook V12 Evo's... they sound like GREAT tires.

Matte Black, Black/Polished, Silver or Gold?
Does anyone here run the Tein H Tech? The drop is 1.7/1.8 and supposedly they ride nice. And they're on ebay around 160 shipped.

I had this same issue and I was going back and forth for months. I'm guessing I'm around your age and I finally went the safe route for less money. I finally found a wheel I really like on the car, a MSR 043 in silver in a 17" x 7.5" and a +35mm offset, as I have a silver 09 S and it only weighs 1 lb more than stock at 22 lbs. I'm going with the General Exclaim UHP in the 225/45R17 because it is closest to the stock 205/55R16. The stock diameter is 24.9" compared to 25" for the 225/45R17. The 215/45R17 is 24.6" and throws off the speedo more. Everyone I've spoken to says I'll never notice the 1 lb. difference so I went with the look I liked the most. If I get a set of winter tires maybe I'll try another wheel as I hate the look of steel wheels if I don't use my stock alloys. I just wish that I liked the stock wheels more than I do.
I would stay away from black wheels too as I don't think they ad much to the car as they disappear more than enhance, IMHO.
