Angry My first issue with the XRS

Well.. it was bound to happen.. today on my home from work, I was unable to get my car out of first gear... nothing unusual.. put the clutch in, pull from 1st to 2nd but the gear was stuck... release the clutch and push and it was like nothing happened.. it happened a few more time on the way home..

This has never happened to me and I'm unable to explain it... Has anyone run into this before? I'll be taking the car to the dealer in the morning to see what's going on with it... I have just about 40k on the car and it has been the best car I've ever owned... I guess it was bound to happen.

Any feedback would be appreciated. (Also a good dealer in the Boston area would be nice to know about.. the one in Westborough is excellent at offering unnecessary work but not so great at doing the proper maintenance on it...)

First check your engine bay, see whether there is anything blocking your shifter cables? If not, then bring it to the dealership and ask them to adjust your clutch. My buddy has a XRS which he had the same problem of locking gear....he got it fix after the mechanic re-adjusting the clutch.

Yes it can be adjusted, bring it back to the dealer, it is cover under warranty! My buddy had the same experience!

Well I just got back from the dealer, they said there was nothing wrong with the car and I would have to wait to see if it happens again for them to see it. They said it may be "cold" related, but the way I look at it is if it was the cold weather, then all gears would do the same... So no fix for this, maybe it won't happen again.

I've had a couple of rough disengagement of gears with the XRS, but I always assumed that it's because I didn't press the clutch all the way in... maybe there is something odd going on with the tranny. Also wouldn't you think that if it was a clutch issue, then the car would still move forward when the clutch is in? Everything works just like if should except that I can't pull it out of first gear on occasions..

I'll have to wait and see I guess...
