30, 087 miles or 9 and a half months before they found out there is another power access point in the console box?
I found that right away and have always used it for my cell phone. I also ran my iPod interface cable to the center console but since that also charges I don't have to run a power cable also.

What console are you talking about? Do you mean under the center armrest?
tomato ,tomatoe
Console , armrest.
Start at the gearshift go straight back from there about a foot and the first thing with a lid on it. Pull the lid open, look down in there and there is a power access point.

Hmm, that might be a good place to store a portable gps and keep it plugged in constantly so you don't wear out the connector with frequent plugging and unplugging. Garmin brand units power on and off automatically if the power port goes on and off with the ignition.
The only questions are, is there space to close the armrest lid without pinching the cable and where can you mount the gps once you pull it out of the compartment using mounting hardware compact enough to fit under the armrest? I wonder if a cupholder mount like this could fit without disassembly?
