USA Enhancing my Corolla; Performance, Interior, Exterior, and More.

I own a blue metallic 2009 Corolla S. I have the money and time to modify my car right now, but have no experience in selecting and installing aftermarket car parts. It would be great if I could get peoples opinions relating to these topics; forged internals, suspension, exhaust system, wheels, brakes, clutch, and possibly a turbocharger or supercharger.

Thanks,

2zrfe

For suspension anything from the 03+ corolla would fit. Exhaust you would have to go custom and get the muffler and get it welded on. Wheels...your choice our bolt pattern is 5x100. Brakes the best you could do is get disk in the back instead of the drums. Clutch im not sure because i haven't seen or don't know what clutch would fit in our cars. As far as forced induction goes you'd have to go custom aswell. Intakes Injen has a short ram and a cold air. Weapon R has a short ram. K&N has a typhoon. Takeda has a short ram. Not sure what else you would wanna do. And for our internals i don't think they have any for our engine yet.

First thing the XRS is a better platform for modification, you should get the XRS in the first place, it has a lot more aftermarket support and products. Anyway, doing a rear disc brake swap will cost you alot of money and effort, personally I don't think it is worthwhile. In terms of other mods....there are a few you can do to the S model.

1) Cold air intake/short ram intake (K&N, weapon R, Fujita, Injen)
2) Short Shifter (TWM short shifter)
3) Exhaust (There aren't a factory cat back system for the S up to now....so either custom exhaust or universal muffler)
4) Header (nothing available for the S yet)
5) Lowering springs (Eibach, TRD, Tein)
6) High Flow Cat (Universal)

Welcome to TN. I hope you enjoy your Toyota as much as I've enjoyed them over the past 30 years. I've always been a Toyota man since my first 69 Corolla. I too have an S, although an 09 but everything is basically the same. Have fun with the mods on your S, there is a lot of info on TN, just do a search and start reading!

Thanks guys, i just Ordered the Weapon R and im looking into the other suggestions. If anyone else has any imput please let me know. im Also wondering if there is any body kits available yet. i think the fog lights on the front with the black plastic around them would look sweet if they made a carbon fiber kit for them.

I think the stock one looks pretty good already. In terms of aftermarket body kit, I have seen some of them online....but they are not nice. As I remember, we have a member around here has a kit on his 10th gen...personally I don't like it at all. If you are concern about the look of your ride....lowering springs is what you need for your next mod.

I installed a TWM short shifter last week...It is another upgrade that you can look into...It decreases the shifter height and throw, with the upgrade bushings, it has very nice feel to it as well.

The front strut brace and the lowering spring are not only for dress up, they are actually performance mods! It will improve your handling!

FYI, the Weapon R is not a cold air intake (CAI), if you what a CAI than look at Injen.
I don't think changing the stock spark plugs will do any thing for you.
I'm curious to see how you like the performance chip.
Most everything else sounds good!

Yes, a CAI will take in colder outside air vs hotter air from near the engine with a SRI.
