Steerin Wheel Covers

ok, any suggestions for covers that either replace oem or wrap over oem, and, offers some cushioning. oem wheel is like holding a piece of wood and i am looking to soften it up some. colors and diy stitch-on is ok too.

Maybe wheelskins? They have nice stitch on covers... I was going to try one but I couldn't decide what I wanted and I just replaced the steering wheel instead lol

walmart has about 50 different versions of tacky as hell steering wheel covers.

I like my wheel. What kills me is having to put my elbow on the hard ass door panel.
Can't get comfortable with that. I usually wind up holding the steering wheel on the lower portion and laying my arm in my lap.

i did look into wheelskins, but they dont come with any padding, they just wrap over. i did pose a question to one wheelskin vendor, asked i they would stretch enough if i 1st wrapped the oem wheel with a single layer of 1/16" foam padding (like that use to wrap fine china, etc). this would make the wheel softer.... waiting for an answer...

j/k
I remember there was a thread in the Camry forums about a shop that does some pretty good work, you have to remove your steering wheel and ship it in though. Try doing a search, maybe you'll come across it.

Wheelskins are nice... but I think if you look close at your factory leather cover it has some special & complex areas that will be hard to match with a wheelskins cover and also the baseball stitching would be a challenge.

i'm currently using a $8 Bell cover from walmart. its "ok". rubber backed with a synthetic leather outside. much softer than oem, but not exactly what i was after. might return it for one of those gel ones...
