xrs injen cai sound/drivability

can anyone with injen or other cai comment on sound levels, throttle response and seat of the pants performance improvement? want only a little more growl (and power, of course)but not nothing obnoxious and bothering at cruising over (sometimes a little, sometimes alot) 130kph+/75mph+ish. thanks!

if you punch the throttle, you will hear the intake grow, and yes it is a sweet addicting sound. keep it below 3K rpm with a light foot and you will hear close to nothing. throttle response is good, a little better than the drop in filters BUT i think when you punch it all your mind diverts to is the sound so it automatically feels faster lol. is it ? i dont konw, maybe a little bit, more noticable at higer rpms (4K - 6K).

Depends on your noise tolerance levels.

If you think an intake is going to drive you nuts, then I would recommend leaving it stock.

I dunno, at 80mph the growl starts to become noticible if you're cruising at that speed. Like they said earlier, if you're below 3k you dont notice a difference from stock. If you're above 3k with the engine loaded then its apparent. If you get into 3.5k, there's no way you're not going to hear it.

I really don't think you'll really notice much at 80 mph. At that speed even in the Automatic the revs are a bit high and even stock it starts to get a little noisy in the cabin.
I hardly think an intake will make a whole lot of difference until you go WOT, especially a CAI vs SRI..

I would not concern myself with that AT ALL.

I believe the old saying goes...

More Noise = More Power (or vice versa)

the purpose of a SRI or CAI is to get more power at High RPMs.

If you are concerned about noise, then adding power is not for you.

A car outfitted with I/H/E will be soo much louder than a car without.
It is part of adding power to a car.
