Stock Sound system XRS help

I plan on buying a 2010 Toyota Corolla XRS in about 4 weeks and one of my concerns is the expandability of the stock stereo.

The first thing I should mention is that I live in Cabo san lucas Mexico and cant get the JBL upgrade, Whats included here in Mexico is the standard 6Speaker 6CD setup (which I cant seem to find what is it to begin with) (test drive is in 1 week).

Does this stereo support pre-outs or anything of the sort? or what is needed to happen to put an amp with some speaker on this car? (I really would prefer not to swap the stock stereo as I like its design)

go to www.crutchfield.com and read about what items you need to have to augment your oem headunit and have a better listening experience without buying an aftermarket headunit.

If I had a non-JBL system I would just upgrade everything, HU & speakers & add an amp & sub.

I don't think there's any difference in the sound quality of the JBL system head-unit. You experience better sound because of the extra power from the external amplifier and slightly better speakers. I upgraded my base system with an external amp and speakers/subs. A great improvement from stock but the head-unit has a very high noise floor which is more evident once the signal is further amplified. I'm currently in the process of changing out the head-unit with a Pioneer AVH-P3100 (awaiting dash kit, steering wheel audio control interface, rear view camera, XM receiver and some warmer weather).

Ok, so that basically means the Original HU is a no go.

I know what I want in that car already, its just that I wanted to go with out an aftermarket HU, does anyone have some picture of what a 1din and 2din after market HU looks like in this car?
