Resonator Delete

So I got my exhaust done today, and it's just a hair short on the volume side. The tone and all is great but I want it a bit louder, do you guys think a resonator delete would be a good idea? Has anyone heard a corolla without the resonator before? I couldn't find any good videos on YouTube. :/

It has been my experience that if you delete the resonator on small displacement engines you get rasp

Your exhaust will get louder overtime, it takes a while to break in~!

Without it you will have a higher pitch, loud raspy sound. If you want a deeper, throaty sound than install a longer one.

I don't think they make longer resonators... LOL when I was getting my exhaust done I left the Stock Resonator in, but MY GOD, that thing is HUGE. Looks like a Long Range Missile. Not only is that huge, but the OEM Muffler... WTF, I think it came from a Tundra or something cause it is MASSIVE

But i'd say leave it in, or upgrade your resonator to a smaller one if you want louder.

I was at a specialty shop yesterday & they had resonators from 6" all the way to 24" but I don't know the factory size for our Corolla. They were the ones that were letting me know what each size would do if I wanted to customize a cat back exhaust.

Ohhh okay then. Definitely don't want raspy. I looked at some resonator delete videos and it makes it sound gross lol. I'll just take your word and leave it on haha. Thanks everyone for your input though.

After doing this, I notice my car can coast a bit further when I let off the gas as opposed to when I had the stock muffler on. However I didn't lose low end torque, and if I did I don't really feel a difference. So idk if there's anyone who had that question but there's your answer for future reference lol.

The resonator is usally just an old fashioned glass pack muffler.

I'll make one in about 4 days, I want the exhaust to break in a little bit first, but it's the same setup as thestone11 on the 1.8L engine. You still need to PM me your number so we could get this meetup on it's feet haha.
