Ok guys I am from Central FL and recently ordered my xrs with navi, leather seats and moon roof. Just wondering how long you guys had to wait for your vehicles to give me a little bit of an idea. Cant wait to get it and make it my own. Glad to be a part of this community everyone seems really cool. thanks for all responses! PS I ordered either red or blue, whichever they can get first!
The car inventory is on computers so the dealer will probably trade one of his cars for it. Depending on where the other dealer is, I would think you may get your car after a transit time of maybe 4 or 5 days. Just a guess. It is worth the wait.
As for duration, it depends on where it is built, I don't know if NUMMI is closed down yet, but if it is and the car is being built in Canada, then normally the wait is about 1-2 months from the order date to build date, and then a few weeks for shipment. (NOW... this is if no other dealer near by has your car in their lot, in which case it could be a week or so to ship it from the other dealer).
When I ordered my XRS it was shortly after the release date for the 10th Gen, and my Dealer is located about 1 hr away from the Cambridge Plant. So my wait was pretty short I think 2 weeks since they built it from order.
Yep, NUMMI is still running until March. Sounds to me like you didn't specifically order from the factory, but rather from the dealer, and what they can find in the area. As Exit9 mentioned, they will probably do a dealer trade to get your car, in which case it's only a few days. If it's actually ordered from the factory, that's a different story. Plus if it was ordered from the factory, you have your definite choice of color, not "either-or".
jayissuperman i know how you feel right now. i remember my wife and i ordering our 09 corolla s in March 4, 2008. we had to wait for many weeks until we received a call that our order will be ready for pickup on May 9, 2008. my wife was all excited because we both know she will be using it most of the time since she travels to work farther than i do. just keep yourself busy for now until you receive a call for your pickup date. welcome to TN.
to TN. I was getting ready to order mine from the factory when I found one exactly like I wanted in route to a dealer 1.5 hours from me. I was very excited as I was willing to wait, but since I didn't have to wait I was able to get the 0% financing from Toyota.

Sounds like you are going through SET (Southeast Toyota, AKA JM Family), but anyway, enjoy the car when you get it. Just curious, are you getting manual or automatic? With those options, AUTO is more common than the MANUAL, and finding a blue or red XRS is even rare (the other colors are more prevalent, that is if there is an XRS on the lot). Anyway, congrats on the car.
The Auto XRS was never common. I think I only saw one on the lot once. Every time I go for an oil change I always walk around the lot looking for XRS's and they are always Manual.

With XRSs, you never know what a dealer will have: Sometimes just one, lots, or none at all. The first time I saw it on a dealer lot (auto show doesn't count), it was a Magnetic Grey Auto with leather, roof and navigation. My stick XRS was a standard region build with JBL and moonroof as the major options, though I would've special ordered it had the car not come like that.
In the US, each region builds their cars differently, while in Canada, I think all cars there are built with/without the Leather Package.
Here in the Portland area I've never even seen an XRS on a dealer lot. They don't seem to order any of them as they say everyone wants the MPG of the 1.8L. As far as trannys go, they seem to be almost all autos for all everything although I mostly see "S" & "LE" and nothing else.

Very true with most Corollas being AUTO...I did a dealer search at some of the Toyotas in the LA area, and a few still have some 2009 XRSs still available, with the majority of them at the larger dealerships.

I thought for sure that I was going to have to order my manual "S" as nobody ever had the options I wanted with the 5-speed. The dealers all said they never see manuals & I wanted the JBL upgrade & the dealers had never seen a Corolla with the JBL option. It was also hard to find VSC as an option, which was a must for me.
