Canada How to improve my sound ?

Hey everyone.
I am a brand new toyota owner. Just got my 2010 corolla ce and quite happy with it. I like the stock stereo, but was wondering how to improve the sound a bit. i realize that the easiest way to do it is by replacing the speekers and maybe add am amp. does any one have any suggestions on how and what brands to use for the purpose. any info will help.
thank you in advance....

Aprox $70-120 (depending on brand and quality)
No amp,
Basic Pioneer speaker (non components) should improve the basic sound system

I have one word that will help the stock stereo or any upgrades that you may choose to do later.

DYNAMAT

+1

I concur. Any stereo upgrade that you may be considering will reap the benefits of any sound deadening that you can do. Doors, trunk and floor are all areas that a lot of sound comes through and it will make a stock stereo sound even better if you deaden these areas. But Dynomat is not the only player here do some research and find the sound deadener that meets your budget.

A good set of efficient speakers will improve the sound. But once you start, you probably won't stop there. I started with speakers, then added an amp, then upgraded the speakers+subs+amp and now I'm in the process of changing out the head-unit. All in the quest for better sound. I also did some sound deadening - front doors and rear deck lid.

"how to improve the sound a bit"

You have to expound on this a little more. A little bit what bottom end, top end, volume-wise?

Budget is a must know, as well as how much are you willing to change the look of the car from factory?

I would recommend SecondSkin which offers a variety of products to suit your soundproofing needs. I am not affiliated with the company but have done an ehxaustive tear down and install of their products in my 08 Camry with some excellent results.

Shut up.

Chastising people for asking questions seems to be what you do.

Stop it. Don't reply in a thread

I am still gathering stuff to upgrade my stereo but I did notice that it sounded better a couple of months after I got it. I guess the speakers loosened up a little bit

hey everyone and thank you for your input. now i understand how passionate ppl get when discussing toyota issues, lol.
my budget is not to extensive, about 200-300 dollars. i am a student,so i have to watch it.
i will research all the options you've suggested and figure it out. the sound deadning makes perfect sense tho. what do you guys think of adding a box in the trunk? by that i mean amp and extra pair of speakers. would that make a difference?

If you are looking to add a bit of low end thump, and still have room in the trunk perhaps a powered subwoofer would fit the bill.

I was able to find some great deals for Dynamat on Amazon & eBay. I purchased enough to do my entire Corolla S for less than $170. Just look for good deals & jump on them when they come up.
