I'd jump on that right away. Paint it silver & all will be good.

My daughter's car has damage that looks like that from backing into a closed garage door.

By the time they fix, trim and paint that trunk lid and blend your quarter panels you will be looking at close to $1K anyways!

So wouldn't your insurance cover it anyway & only cost you your deductible? Most people carry a $100 or $250 comprehensive deductible which is not $1k.

My deductibles are both $1000 and I still have very expensive insurance - $1200/ 6 months!

Edit: but Mid this year I will have 3 years of clean record and 25 years old!

look at what i've found

tell them not to blend any panels just paint and install. it would be cheaper.

It will also not match and look like ass!

Our shop will not panel paint anything except bumpers unless we know the person or can get them not to tell people we did the work!

Check out this site for Ontario

Niessen sp? Autowreckers in Cambridge has a grey/silver trunk 500 bucks. But I would think that would be a colour match

Do the people that carry your note know you carry a 1K deductible?
