10th gen Corolla steering is actually great.

While my 09 corolla was at the dealer getting repaired, they gave me a 2010 camry LE as a rental. While driving the camry I noticed it was a bit different. The steering was much lighter, and easier to turn. The down side to that was the fact that it was lighter. I found my self not being able to feel the road as much, while on the highway I would sway left and right, I had to hold the wheel 10 and 2 to keep it straight. The recovery after the turns was also too light and found the wheel slip much faster than the corolla. So now driving my corolla again, I have to say I actually like it. What are your thoughts?

I think part of it is that you're used to the Corolla now & the Camry is just different, just like it took most of us some time to get used to the Corolla EPS. To me it just felt different but in no time I was used to it, & I now have no issues at all.

i believe the camry does not have electric power steering yet, the camry hybrid is obviously equipped with it but the regular camry is still old hydraulic assist.

My neighbor has a Camry Hybrid & I knew that has EPS so I figured that they all do. If the other Camry's don't than they should have more road feel & not less I would think.

Eventually there probably be real drive by wire and a servo will control the steering with no physical mechanical connection between the steering wheel and the wheels.

Now there is a recall!!

One BIG difference. Aircraft have MEGA redundancy, from the inputs...... to the controlling computers..... to the power actuators/control surfaces.

They both feel the same to me. Equally light and have a somewhat disconnected feeling compared to my 7th gen.

the 10th gen corolla steering is one of the worse i've ever driven in any car.
i own a 10th gen and is one of the things i can't stand ab out it.
I've owned older corollas where the steering is soo precise and the feel so perfect.

I do not get why people like to feel the road? I hate that feel It makes always feel like there is something wrong with the car or suspention. I rather have zero feel.
