I would doubt that they would import any Corollas at all in that region, given that there is two North American plants already, but don't take my word for it. It's just what I think.

Selling my aftermarket touchscreen head unit. Check it out!
Dealers have all told me that there are "absolutely" no Corollas imported from Japan around here.
Is this true, do you think ?
In the market possibly for a new one, and would much prefer a Japanese imported one (apparently without all the problems) than one made in the U.S.
Thanks,
Bob
Good luck finding one of those. the ones from Japan are the only Corollas that are not affected by the recall and should be the only corollas the toyota dealerships are selling, if they have any left.
I have got a Japanese made 09 Corolla. Got it off the delivery truck in St Louis. I thought it was from California until I checked the VIN number today. I haven't had any problems with it.

I don't have a JA Corolla but I've had zero issues with my 09 Corolla S built in NUMMI.

In order to get a Japanese made Corolla, you might have to get it from a dealer on the West Coast.
Being here in California, I still see a few Corollas on the local dealer lots, so I assume those are the Japanese built ones. However, they are limited to the Base and LE models, since the other models seem to be only built in North America. Also, allocation wise, it makes sense for the Japanese built ones to go to dealers closer to the western Toyota ports (Portland, Bay Area and Long Beach).

My Japanese made 09 Corolla is an LE, so you may be on the track. I got it in St Louis - middle of the country - so Japanese made Corollas might be distributed anywhere is my guess. I don't think it is particularly better made than the cars from the North American plants. I was sorry to hear they are closing the California NUMI plant, because that is where I originally thought the car was made, and I thought I was helping to keep USA workers employed.
