When im in my 2009 Corolla S, driving down at about 80-100 MPH, the front left wheel (i think its there), makes a high pitched squealing noise at random intervals. Groaning is also present. Then when i hit the brakes, the brake pedal noticeably moves back and forth under my foot. Also the steering wheel shimmies from left to right. Dealer wont admit to replicating the problem, so im out fixing it on my own. Does any body have any idea what it could be?
I don't know what the speed limit is in your area, but 80-100 miles/hour is likely why the dealer can't replicate it. As technicians aren't willing to get a ticket for a customer. I'll try and help you but I need a bit more information. Does the wheel shimmy under braking, at all speeds or only once you hit those speeds? How many Miles are on the car? What are the conditions of your tires?

if one dealer refuses to fix it go to another dealer. offer to let the mechanic ride with u and u do the driving. that way you can replicate the problem without the mechanic risking a driving ticket.
any ideas pwner guy? i think im going to dealer it tomorrow and see what they say.
You said you have new tires. Did the problem exist with the old tires? If not than I would say there's an issue with one of your new tires.

Would you get in a car with a complete stranger so they could show you something that happens to their car between 80-100mph, especially when the problem sounds potentially dangerous?

the thing is I was hit. some idiot hit the front right of my car, bending my tie rod on the right side and messing up the steering all together. My insurance company had the car towed and fixed. the problem didn't occur right away, the accident happened in july. ive started noticing the sounds about a month ago, and on the left side, not the right.

Unless you love your dealer, I wouldn't waste the time. Problems caused by a car accident aren't going to be warranty work. You may want to take it to the place that did the repair, as you usually have a warranty for their work.
Since it only happens at 80+ my thought would be its a small suspension issue that is amplified at a high speed.
well after i got the recalls fixed on my car, the steering wheel isnt shimmying, but it still sounds like something is rubbing in the front left, a high pitch squeal like rubbing sound
a buddy of mine who is a mechanic said from the description of my sounds that it might be a warped disk break. . . .any possibility? but ill look into the backing plate
