need honest opinion or suggestions

hi guys and lovely ladies, my name is giovanni, i am 19 years old and maybe it is not obvious but I am kind of in love with my corolla, not in a freaky way or something, I just like keeping clean and nice all the time, well enough about me, last summer for my birthday my parents bought me a stock metallic silver corolla 2010, and of course i was f...king happy because this was my fist car, yay. As many of you know it is a decent car but nothing compare to a s or xrs type, so this is were people like me try to make our cars nice, well my first mode was that I wanted a spoiler because it look cool and when I made some money I bought it, after that I saw many corolla with dent door an I though many if I buy the side molding it would protect more my car and look cool, and yes I also bought then and they look cool, after that I decided to buy, on ebay, some fog light because seriously that make your car look even cooler, and when I installed then I was a happy bastard, oh yeah I have also done random stuff with black sticker, were the body kit should go, because my car didn't come with it because it is the stock version.

Sorry that I have talk to much and haven't actually ask what I wanted to ask but here it come, after all the mode I made I always wanted to install hid kits but I am undecided to make the full 6000 or 8000, when I say full I mean fog lights and the actual top lights , also I was thinking on maybe putting my top light with a combination of low beam 6000 hid and high bean 3000 hid or maybe not hid but something that look similar but not hid, and for the fog light they would actually be 3000 hid, I really don't know so what better way to make a decision that asking other people how have your car or have done some mode themselves, that all for now sorry for being kind of annoying but i would really like your opinion on this matter and if you have other ideas that don't involve this particular question like some suggestions on how to make my car even nicer they will also be appreciate, thank a lot in advance and again sorry for being to talkative

There a lot of threads on HID's & wether to use them or not. I purchased HIR bulbs that are brighter than stock bulbs & utilize all the ability of the stock halogen housing without the HID glare to oncoming cars.

I am using mtec super white halogen and nokya hyper yellow fog...I am more than happy with their output. If you really want to do HID, get yourself a pair of retrofit headlight.

i have used Philips Blue-Vision halogen for years. they cast light that has clarity and were brighter than oem. i used Philips All-Weather for fog before but i cant seem to find this anymore. Philips UK had a tri-band bulb, but the filters were backwards for the US so they wouldnt work correctly here... i was waiting for Philips to make the US version but i havent seen them yet.

yeah sorry about that, but i think that it is probably a good idea to just install hid on the stock head lamps and nokya hyper yellow for the fog light so my car do not create a lot of glare and people on the road start getting piss off, i have read a lot of the hid tread and many people have said the sames thing that is better to put it all 6000k hid and if your going to use yellow on your lamps to buy the nokya hyper yellow and not hid because it is cheaper and it its almost the same output, anyways thanks for you suggestions, any other suggestions are welcome y pic coming soon

Where are these threads you've read that actually come close to "suggesting a 6000k KIT is good". Sorry to be a debbie downer but any kit regardless of aiming in a halogen housing (read: NOT meant for HID), WILL induce glare.

I don't know where you're getting the idea that using nokya yellow fogs will in any way reduce the glare coming off the kit, they are mutually exclusive items.

no matter what kid of hid kit you get, you will cause glare. luckily the corolla housing causes less glare than most other cars w/o projectors. 6000k is the "preferred" hid color to get, but in no way is it better. For fogs, they actually have a better cutoff than the low beams...yea i said it. Nokya hyper yellows are "preferred" because they cause less glare than hids and they produce the "right" yellow color. but please dont get hid highbeams, it might not be a law in PR but people will get pissed off and pissed off people do crazy things...especially if youre trying to blind them.

I have HID's and it's a 35w 5000k set, honestly the glare isn't bad, I never get flashed and I've had friends drive in front of me saying everything's fine. - A lot of the guys at the recent houston meetup saw them and were saying how the glare isn't bad either. so it's really up to you man. Just don't go higher than 6000k and keep the wattage at 35 and you should be fine. I personally think it's the blue hue in HID's that cause the worst glare, not necessarily the fact that they're HID's, then again, high beams bother me worse than anything, and there's people where I live that ONLY put on their brights and parking lights and drive at night and it's the worst thing I've ever seen.

4300k-6000k seem to have the same light output just a different amount of tint (yellow-white-blue). majorly it is your choice and its what you like.

4300 is stock HID temperature. 5000K, 6000k are wannabe poseur temperatures, the higher you go past 4500K it actually yields less usable light.
