Blank Accessory Plates?

Does anyone know how much dealerships charge for the blank accessory plates? I replaced the stock stereo in my 09 Corolla and I want to hide the AUX jack (no longer needed) behind the console and replace it with a blank.

I also took out a blank from near the mirror controls to put in a toggle switch. I can't use this blank to replace AUX jack as it is the wrong color. My question is, the toggle switch I put in for separate lighting is a bit smaller than the switch area where the blank came from. Does anyone know if Toyota make toggle switch adapter blanks. Sorry if that sounds confusing.

I'm not sure if they make a toggle switch accessory plate but I know from my dealership it was $10 per accessory plate.

Wow, $10 for that little piece. I wonder if there are any places online that sell it as an aftermarket place for a little bit less.
I thought about cutting a hole out in it to fit the toggle switch, but it's got all that excess plastic on the back. I figured it would've been hollow. Any other suggestions? I want it to look like it was supposed to be there and not all throw together, ya know?

Does anyone even know the correct name of the piece I'm talking about?

Jeff: are these only available at dealerships or can they be found aftermarket?

I doubt you'll find any aftermarket. They're pretty cheap from Toyota though.

I cut a hole through one of mine to mount a toggle switch. It doesnt look thrown together at all. Just use a dremel and try to be as precise as possible. I cut the hole a bit small at first and then gradually widened it until I had a perfect fit.

Do you happen to know the measurements of the blanks and if they have an adapter of sorts for smaller switches? The switch I have is a little smaller than the area for the blank.

I think you are confused. The switch will be smaller than the hole where the blank is. You use the blank plastic piece and drill a hole through the piece and hollow it out with a dremel then the switch fits through the hole and looks stock.

I missed ChancreScolex post before I posted the last message. I have a drill, but no dremel. I'll have to see what I can do.

I used sidecuts or whatever kind of pliers they are called and a sharp knife or razorblade. Dremel just makes it a lot easier

they are out there for about $4-5 (http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...?siteid=214001), just search for that part #, etc.

dunno if shipping will be $5, which leads you back to your local dealer, etc. many times local retail is inet price + shipping, etc.
