I was looking at trying to install my Alpine F300 amp tonight, but was looking for some install ideas. Should I install under the seat? Behind one of the fold down rear seat sections? Mount it to the rear of the sub box? Mount it to the underside of the rear deck? Does anyone have pics of their amp install? If so can you share them? Thanks!!!

See my photo gallery for my install of an Alpine MRP-F300 (recently replaced by a PDX-5). I installed it on a platform which allowed the air from the rear heater ducts to still reach the back.
I installed mine at the back of the rear folding seats. If that amp is for the aftermarket subs, you have to think on emergency situations wherein you have to change tires. So attaching it at the back of the sub box is a hassle when accessing to your spare tires because of the wirings...

I did mine on the back of the rear seat as seen here and used the zip ties with screw holes for running my wiring so it would not get caught in the seat folding up and down. It also works out so that the other seat is the perfect size for the smaller JBL GTO 75x2 or 50x4 will fit on the other seat perfectly.

Sienna,
Did you mount the F300 under the driver or passenger seat? I am assuming the driver?

Driver's side. The platform I mounted the amp to allows it to be positioned further forward. I used some 1/8" hardboard with some 1"x2" runners on the outer edges. I trimmed the runners to allow the hardboard to just clear the top of the rear heater ducts (creating a tunnel below the amplifier). The platform was 2-sided taped to the carpet with the amplifier mounted to it with screws. I've added another photo to my gallery to give you an idea of what I'm talking about.

Nice. I may end up mounting it on on of the rear seat halves since it will require no fabrication. I am getting fabricated out. Plus I don't want to have to coil of the leftover RCA cable. I like your idea though.

no room under the seats.. mine is attached to the sub box inside the trunk or if you could mount it behind a rear folding seat it would b great too
oh..is there any so called slim amps out there that would fit under our seats?
im thinking of getting an amp and sub in the future and i'd like to not put the amp in the trunk lol
