Trunk Lid Lift

OK, I tried searchin for a thread like this and found nothing.... If I missed it, please ignore this one.

Was browsing around and found this "mod" to help with the trunk lift. I will be trying it out today and post my findings, just wanting to see if you guys knew about this. Seems SUPER EASY

I will post my results when I get back from having my windows tinted

I like the concept of the Mod but their has to be a way to make it look more professional and less backyard.

Personally i like my trunk lid to open just a bit. I wouldn't want to pop it open one day when its windy and see my trunk lid fly up and break. Worst case scenario it swings up and goes through the rear windshield. Thats just me.

I'm not worried about it braking the rear window but I like that it pops up just a bit. If it's raining I don't need to lift it all the way up until I need to, that way things stay dry. How hard is it anyway to open the trunk?

OK, I did not get time to take pics, but I just used 2 SMALL, SMALL bungie cords, one on each side and opens like a champ. No S Hook sticking down, no big "rubberband". I mean these are SMALL bungie cords. I will take pics tomorrow.

Did take some playing around, but is very nice and hidden. Showed the wife and she couldn't tell it wasn't stock. Can barely see them, I am LOVING it!

Pics tomorrow after a nice car wash and I clean up the cathode light wires in the trunk.

True, but when ever I go home for breaks and stuff, I park on a hill and have to unload my trunk. But the thing is, the trunk springs are not strong enough to keep the trunk open so it ends up crashing into my head while I'm unloading stuff. I do not recommend getting hit in the head with a trunk...it hurts. It kinda feels like doing this --->

I guess I'll finally get around to doing this mod sometime since I'm on break. Post a vid of it in action of you can! That way we can see how you arranged everything and also how well it works! Thanks.

Just turn the car around so the front is downhill while unloading!

If only it was that easy... but it's not. Plus the trunk opening up is pretty sweet. It reminds me of my dads benz that did the same thing, only in a more refined, german way lol

I'm just curious now, why isn't it that easy to just park the car so the front is downhill & not the trunk? I do it on my street & my driveway all the time.

Lol. While turning the car around might just be crazy enough to work, for those of us that park on flat surfaces, i will take a vid and post it in a bit. I love it personally. Coming home from softball with my huge bag of stuff i will no longer need to wrestle with the trunk. Im just happy i found a cleaner way to do it than the S Hook and tire piece

There's a lip that goes from the street to the driveway (kinda like an mini ramp). So if I back in the rear is higher than the front and when the bumper gets close to the ramp it drags. Plus all I can see out my mirrors and rear window is the sky and I don't want to run into our retaining wall... That's another reason why I hate WV. Everything is on a hill
