Sweaty Hands

So I recently got my 2010 Corolla S and have a question. It has a leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, but I have pretty sweaty hands. Will this affect the leather (especially on the steering wheel) in a negative way or am I just being paranoid? Thanks!

I've heard that leather (interior) is easier to maintain and clean. I don't think sweaty hands will damage the leather steering wheel and knob. If you're paranoid, just wipe it with leather cleaner regularly.

I used an automotive leather cleaner/conditioner on my leather car seats and leather steering wheel about twice a year for 10 years and they didn't dry crack, so I would recommend doing that. You might want to try driving gloves (leather) which might absorb most of the sweat from your hands, but I have never tried that so I can't say it would work. I think driving gloves are about like leather golf gloves, which I never had a problem when golfing in summer heat. I have seen ads for driving gloves in car magazines.

Anytime you introduce salt to leather, something has to give.

i dunno why but whenever i touch leather, i always get a little sweaty on my hands. i do like leather cleaners but the problem with that is that right after applying the leather cleaner, its too smooth for the way i like. i usually turn with one hand and after i apply that, i MUST turn with too hands. too slippery for me

I remenber using leather gloves in snow ball fights as a kid and they hardened up after they dried out and would then crack after a few more times of use. I would stick with the cleaner/conditioner maybe monthly. The stuff usually soaks into the leather after a couple of hours and isn't too slippery. Remember using leather conditioner on baseball gloves. If you didn't and used the glove frequently, they would also crack.

Botox; I crap you not it will help with the sweaty hands. Otherwise I would keep a small shop towel in your console for bad days.

Driving gloves are not a bad idea, just get ones that are comfortable.

LOL yeah botox does the trick apparently. Also, I heard some people get surgery to get rid of it :|. I'll just stick to wiping on my jeans or a shop towel:P
