It is nice out, so I went to pick up some Turtle ICE Clay Kit to have a little fun with my 09 S. The result is nice and this is the first time I played with the clay bar.
wow! great job....do you know how long it took you? Im going to clay it in the summer when I have some spare time..gotta do it every year to prevent buildup

Really depends on your fitness level? haha...my arm is really sore after the thing is done. Too many rinsing and towel drying...but it is worth it. I think I spend about 2-3 hours on and off. After the clay bar, the paint surface is glossy and smooth....just like when I picked up the car brand new from the dealership. I have been using Turtle ICE product since last year, their liquid wax is awesome and after today, I strongly recommend the Clay Kit.
A clay bar shouldn't make you sore at all as it's not to be used with pressure. You use a lot of lubricant to make it easy. I use an orbital from Griot's Garage & it's the only one that I've ever found that won't burn your paint even if you stay on an area too long. If you've never tried it, it's a must own product. Their wax is second to none also. I've used many different waxes & polishes over the years & when my brother showed me these they did things to my paint that other products never did, I'm sold now & I understand why so many car clubs swear by these products here in the Pacific NW.

Nice results! yea i def recommend to get your car clayed, its a must, dont wax unless u clay, pointless to add the wax to protect the paint without first removing the contaminants, i havent had a chance to clay yet but will be doing so within next few days, i purchased Mothers Gold Class clay bar, def know a few cars that have Great results! ...then i will be using pinnacle polish, to just remove a few light scratches and light swirls, the probably use the Wolfgang paint sealant, and finish it off with Pinnacle Souveren carnauba wax, amazing for dark color cars like black and red! def a must see in person! only con the durability, depending on your climate conditions, usually will last about 1 month, hence reason why i am using the paint sealant first...plus with every weekly wash will be using the quick detailers spray to help it stay protected =-)

Turtle ICE Clay Kit is a 2 steps kit. The first step is a liquid clay, you have to apply it with a towel with firm motion. Then second step is the clay bar, which is easy with the lub. The reason my arms are sore because I don't have a garden hose handy (only a bucket and bunch of microfiber towels) and I did a full car wash before applying the Clay Kit, not to mention, hand drying everything too~!

lol i hear u, i def can relate i like to take my time and carefully wash my car by hand, def i get a little sore afterwards , nothing more gratifying than seeing the results of your wash and the beauty of the shine u see in front of you, i personally never have taken my car to a automatic car wash or let noone else wash my car before number one way to end up with scratches and swirls
I did the interior and exterior paint protection myself. Didn't cost me a penny. Wax it every three months. A wash or two every week. Need to protect that black paint. Ill prolly clay bar it before summer.

Check around, I think they have a special line of products called black box specific made for black color car. I saw it on the turtle wax website before.
