This is in reply to a question by "The7". Not wishing to hijack the thread I start a new one.
All I can tell is optitron gauges are much sharper and easier on the eye in day and night driving. Have not driven other Corollas so cannot tell the difference. Maybe below link will explain better.
Buy a S or XRS model. Not sure if the XLE has them (or LE for you Canadians). I guess you want to swap? Scour the junkyards or the Bay for it then. It would cost plenty a penny right now for it.

Doesnt come standard on S. At least not mine anyway. It's one of the parts I hope to find in a junkyard someday

Theres a guy near me with tons of parts only 2010 Corollas and the Optitron apparently is standard on the XRS and Le models in Canada and I see he has an LE. I'll give him a call tomorrow. If he does have it, what parts should I take out of the car? Thanks!
my friend says that brand new they would cost at least $675 from the dealer he works at. but there are a lot of corollas ive seen crashed but most of them are salvage title and rarely they sell parts only. i really want them though

If it was me that had access to these cars? Optitron guages, headlights, taillights, foglights, switch blanks, variable int. wiper stalk, split level center console lid, etc. And I'd be sure to bring a large, empty toolbox too

LOL nice:P. For the gauge cluster, I only need to pull out the gauges correct?
The instrument cluster is just one big component. Supposedly not very hard to remove from the car either.
Sweeeet! Also, is it the same cluster for both manual and automatic cars? Thanks! I hope he doesn't pull a fast one and ask big bucks for it:P If he's got extras I'd be willing to pick them up for anyone who wants them and can ship them (of course I'd have to charge the price of the clusters and shipping).

Unfortunately I don't have an answer for that. But let me know if he has any extra optitrons or the variable int. wiper stalk and how much he wants for them. I'd deinately be interested in those parts.
