So my car is getting around 10k miles so i thought before i take it up to the dealer to get my free oil change id look at my oil and air filters. I haven't replaced either of the air filters yet and the engine air filter looked almost brand new, however when i looked at my cabin air filter it was very dirty and had stuff id expect to find in the engine air filter in it, like the stupid helicopter seed things from trees and such.
Just wondering if anyone else has noticed anything like this or if its just kinda random?

yea the aircabin filter does get really dirty after a while. i've also noticed stuff caught in there that i didnt expect wud be there.
The cabin filter is located behind the glove box. You just need to open it up and reach behind it to a small rectangular plastic cover located on the left side of the glove box. The plate is removed from the right hand side and gently pulling out.
If you have bigger arms like i do, you might need to gently pull the sides of the glove box inwards releasing the pressure pins, so that it can open a little further.
... ok... i'm assuming it's the lower glove box? and it is reached from within the car itself?
Anyone happen to have any pics for this moron? I'm definitely gonna need to look at this... What's the odds Dealership cleaned this?
the dealership doesnt clean it, they just change it and charge u labour for it too. yes its in the lower glove box. u can also look it up in ur owners manual, they have pictures and detailed description of how to access it.
so just open the glove box (slightly bend in sides to unhook if needed) and just open the rectangle area and clean it out? .... is it really that easy?
Is there a filter that should be replaced in there or just clean it out?
sorry for all the dumb questions and thanks for your help!!!!

dont know about the noticable difference, but once u see that dirty filter i doubt u'll want to put it back. its one of those things if it wasant there i wudn't care, but since its there and if i see its dirty i'll replace it with a clean one just because now i know its dirty
