2010 Corolla ce demo w/1500 km for $22,000 CAD otr, good?
Hi,
I was searching to buy a Toyota car for the past 6 months to 1 year ... between a Corolla, Yaris or the Camry.
So finally this evening, the toyota dealer i went to had a 2010 Toyota Corolla CE with the Enhanced Convenience Package (a/c, keyless, Carbin air filter, power windows and locks, cruse control, tire pressure monitoring, colored door handle and VSC) in the show room I have found.
This corolla is a demo used by the Service Technician Manager, My first intention for the corolla was to get either the S or the XRS but money wise kinda change and this one somewhat interested me.
Anyways, they offered this demo to me at first $22,500 otr CAD but then they didn't want to budge so I decided to go to another, so at the end they offered $22,000 otr CAD with a hood deflector, and full tank of gas.
I signed the agreement with a note that I get 48 hours to make up my mind and i get back my deposit if i come back. So I would like to get your opinions before the 48 hours is up.
Hi chris, welcome to the forums. Your "deal" sounds VERY high. Find another dealer. Any dealer that tries to sell you on a bug deflector and a TANK OF GAS as selling points to sweeten the pot is just plain ridiculous. You should get a FULL tank of fuel with any new car purchase without even asking.
Use the search function, or just go back a page or two, there is a recent thread that is all about what people paid for their corolla. read that thread kick that dealer to the curb and go hunting, I am very confident that with a little more effort and research on your part you could find a better car and save a few grand.

+1
That sounds very high for a demo CE.

CE is the base model in Canada. that is just too high. try the toyota canada website and configure the CE model yourself and find out if it would be the same or not.
My Corolla S in Canada retailed for $24,500 + taxes with leather, moonroof, 5 speed and a couple dealer installed options. I would think you should get the car you are talking about for $18K otr. I love buying cars as you always hold the "trump card" if you don't like the price you walk. Good luck

bang on.
If there is a will there is a way. If that guy won't budge on price ask him for a list of other Toyota Dealers near by because you will take your business elsewhere.
with all the recalls you should be able to get that car for about $0.25
i got my new S with moonroof for $20,000, thats with taxes, shipping(had to bring it in from BC) and other stupid fees. that dealer is ripping you off considering it's a demo unit.
just for comparison the first toyota dealership i went to tried to sell me the same car i have now for $1500 more and it was used! (30k km and rock chips) shop around, even at cost the dealership is making money, but the employee might not get as large of bonus.

With all due respect, $20k in Canada for an S with moonroof and taxes in is impossible. I just bought 2x 2010 Corolla s, both with moon roof and leather and they retail for $24,500 or about $27,700 with tax. Leather was an extra $1400 that woud bring the cost to $26,300. Your $20k represents a dicsount of 24% from retail and I can tell you that would never happen. A very close friend manages our Toyota dealership and I purchased my both cars from a another close friend so I have a very good idea what their threshold is and it is nowhere near 24%. If you provide a bill of sale I will donate $100.00 to a chartiy in Canada of your choice if I am wrong.

i was a little off $20550 + $500 for that protection package stuff they offer. i do not have leather, moon roof is the only extra luxury i got with my S.
