Question HELP: Weapon R "Ram Air" Install on 1.8L

So the intake is installed and all is good except I can't seem to get the "Ram Air" kit to fit. I can't get it to clear the master cylinder on my 1.8L XLE. Has anyone else installed the "Ram Air" tube on a Rolla with the 1.8L? Pics would be awesome. Thanks.

I have tried....but with limited space and the computer is kinda on the way....I dumped the idea, and it won't be that much difference with it or without it. The gap between the hood and the headlight already letting cooler air in when the car is in speed...so I could care or less.

i actually did the ram air kit with my 1.8l engine. it was definitely hard to connect the ram air tube to the air filter. sorry i never took any pics with it on and i already took the intake out and switched back to my old one. what you need to do is really bend it and push it hard into place. the first time i did this, i had someone else help me hold it while i tighten the clamp. however i do have a picture of how my car looked after i got the kit in. no engine pic though.

interesting placement...

not my cup of tea, but hey props for creativity.

I would have put it behind the lower grill for aesthetics, but that is just me

i was thinking of doing that but i didnt want to think of how to tie it down near the grill since there is some plastic thing in the way. and i didnt have fog lights to begin with so it was easier

So why did you remove the Weapon R intake & go back to stock?

cause i didnt realy feel any power coming from it at all. there was no throttle response change. and it was just pointless to hear it roar and not go anywhere. so i just figured i would go back to my stock intake box and use a trd high perofrmance air filter. with that i feel more throttle response as opposed to me using the weapon r. there wasnt much resistance when i step on the pedal.

For me I would say it helped a bit. I'm not laying down rubber, but I think the car is a bit more responsive overall, especially at the higher end. Just my $.02
