Always open vents?

Is there any way to stop the flow of air from the vents at the top of the instrument panel? Even with the fan off, I still get air flowing in through those vents whenever the car is moving.

if you are talking about the vents by the windsheild, then no, there's not a way to do that without modifying the vent selector knob. If you are talking about the vents above the radio, then yes, turn the reciculation on. That is the button in the middle of the vent selector knob. when the LED is lit, outside air will not be let into the car.

if you need help modifying the switch, let me know. ive removed the mechanism that turns recirc off when you choose one of the defoging positions.

Thanks for the suggestions. I knew I could use Recirculate, but after having driven Dodges for the past 200,000 miles or so, I wasn't sure that having air flowing in, even when the fan is off, was normal. Apparently it is, so I can live with it. Except when, as I did this week, I came around a curve and encountered a freshly killed skunk in the road. I managed not to run over it, but I got a car full of that scent anyway.

Is it only done by electrical means?

it is mechanical, and completely reversible. it is a bit in depth and youve got to fully dissassemble the vent selector switch, and also re assemble whitch can be a pain if youre not careful.
