i am going to do that as well very soon. nice addition. i will also try to open up my corolla's headlights and put some inside.
Putting inside the lights ala Audi was my first preferred choice. There's a lot of clips in youtube showing how to do it. Looks easy to do. But realizing my limitations, tools, time and downtime, also the replacement cost of the lamp should I crack it.(I'm sure I will). Leaks. All things considered around the foglamp is the way to go. If I change my mind later on I just yank them off and cut the wiring and I'm back to as-built.
A DIY is not necessary. It's quite straighforward. The most difficult part is where to get power from.
I have the LED series lamp for 12 VDC below. You can use a VOM or make up a series lamp with a car's 12V light bulb. One end will be to ground and the other into a wire find a switched source powered wire. In my case I clipped the alligator clip to ground and poke the other end into a wire that's only powered when car is switched on. The light will light and I've found my source. Just tap my strip LED's positive end to it.
I fit a 3 amp (that's the smallest I have) online fuse to the positive side
You should make a DIY for this incase some of us may want to do this in the future!
Check the DIY for LED over headlights. Same idea. I removed the bumper to make feeding the wire easier thru the gap in the fog light easier. I also posted a DIY on removing the front bumper not too long ago. Just check the DIY Sticky at the top.

btw... looks cool! glad to be of help cabur... check out mine! lol mines kinda like clintj's its tapped to the parking lights
I thought of that. Connecting to the parking light is the easiest way but only light up when car lights come on when ambient light is low. My way the LED's comes on whenever I start the car. I'm sure getting a lot of looks from other cars. One come alongside me after I've passed him, points to my lights just to give me a thumbs up. I don't know him from Adams. Nice feeling though.
Hi Guys, I would like to try this mod as well. Where did you get you LED strips? I had this website in mind, http://www.oznium.com/side-emitting-led-strip. I am a little confused about how you wired the lights though. The pictures to me look like you have some wires going to the negative terminal of the battery, and a wire with a clamp on the neg. and a probe on the pos. Am I missing something?

i'd like to do this too but was wondering if there's a any kind of light you can use that looks more like one solid light than a bunch of individual lights? or can you not see the individual bulbs unless your up close?
