I bought my Corolla S and everything works great, but I recently replaced the stock headunit with a replacement headunit and got it professionally installed. Its weird because now when I press the lock button on the remote, it still locks the doors but has no beep or flashers when it used to do so... when i hit the unlock button, it still works normal by unlocking the doors, displaying the flashers, and sounding a beep. Like i said, before I got the new head unit installed, the lock button on the remote would lock the doors, display the flashers, and sound a beep. Basically I would like it to display flashers and sound a beep when I hit the lock button on the remote so I would know that it received the signal. Anyone have a clue to what may have happened and possibly have a solution?

I believe you answered your own question. You replaced the stock head unit. Most new cars have the chimes routed through the stereos. Some cars do a lot more than that with them. I do think there is a way to retain the chimes though. I would ask the stereo shop they should have known about this first. If that fails I would call the dealer. You might just try google, I am sure this has been covered a lot in some of the stereo sites
Well yeah that makes sense... but you would think the unlock chime would have stopped working too if that be the case. I'll see what the audio shop says tomorrow.

^^might wanna get a second opinion from someone that changed their headunit and still have the factory keyless entry/alarm fully working if there is any...

I didn't catch that part about it still beeping on unlock. That is strange. Well anyway it seems to be related anyway. Keep us posted I am thinking about ditching the stock radio in my Camry also. I haven't done the research yet so I don't know the details and would be interested to know more.
off topic but when you replaced the stock to an aftermarket, does your AUX port still works witht the after market?
Well not the factory aux port... but I use USB instead so we are going to mount the adapter coming out of the back of my headunit in that same place... so basically it will be like the usb port on the back of a computer... just plug in an ipod and go
Okay well I solved my problem. Last night I noticed that when i pressed the lock button on my remote, all doors locked except my passenger side door. I called down to the audio shop and they told me that they had taken off that door panel because I had told them I was probably going to want to get some new door speakers installed. They wanted to see what was already there. When they put the passenger side door panel back on, they forgot to secure the green and white lock/unlock cables back in place. So I guess the car recognized all doors wasn't locking, so it didn't beep or display flashers. But I popped the door panel off, secured the cables, and now it works fine.

Good to hear, I am surprised the shop fessed up. I had a shop break my door pillar panel in my car and deny deny deny.
