Canada Rear squats under acceleration

I have searched but did not find a related thread on this topic.

My question is have members noticed that this version of corolla is very "loose" in the rear?

I mean that even slight acceleration will cause the rear of the car to squat down upon forward motion. My last 04 corolla did not exhibit this. Maybe I have a problem or is this just the way these new models are?

If that is the case is there a cheap/easy fix to level out the car upon acceleration?

every car does that, but the motion is proportional to the spring rates. users that have installed springs will less like feel that.

but i do not have springs as of now, and i do have the motion, and it's normal.

Front wheel cars squat in the back under torque, rear drive vehicles raise the front end under torque.

Lowering springs will help make it less obvious

is this your car?

j/k... every car does that, just don't "punch it". And as others have said Lowering Springs will help that

As stated previous I had no issue with my 04. I have had other FWD before that and did not notice this as much as the 09.

So if I changed the spring rate that would alleviate this?
Changed it to what?
What would that cost to have installed at my local dealer?

Depending what springs you were wanting: TRD, Tein, Eibach, K-Sport are the most common.

If you wanted a dealer to install them, I would GUESS $450-500ish? Springs are $140-180 for the "smart shopper" pending the brand. I priced the same TRD Springs I just got online for $177 delivered at $195 the cheapest dealership in the area (called 6 of them!).

Hope this helps!

Most shops charge $50-$100 per hour & it usually will take several hours. I've never heard of a reputable shop charging only $75 unless it's a friend.

My friend works at The Shop at San Bruno about 15mins away from San Francisco and he says it cost 150-170 for suspension installation. I'm sure only small shops or shops with little business will install for 75.

If you're interested, I'm planning to sell my Tein S.Tech springs sometime soon after changing them to H.Tech cause S.Tech is too low for me.

If something on the car gets damaged and Toyota can prove it was directly related to something you did to the car (installation of aftermarket springs in your case), they would not cover the damaged part. But it does not completely void your warranty.
