Unusual braking problem

hi just bought a new 2010 corolla s after a week of driving i notice that i had to press the gas harder for it to accelerate when i release the gas it slows quicker than it would as normal or when in neutral. when i just gotten it i was smooth and easy accelerating, obviously i made an appointment with the toyota dealer seeing as they gave me 2 years free maintenance. just curious to see if anyone having the same problem or have a solution . thanks

He's saying that his car is accelerating slower now than when he first got it and when he releases the gas it is decelerating quicker than then as if something was holding his car back. He's asking if anyone else has experienced this before and if it is normal for his car. I thought the same thing too, but after 4000 miles and the car broke in it seemed fine. Maybe it's something the car does when it is breaking in. Either that or it was all in my head (Which I think is what happend) it'll go away, you're probably just thinking too much.

If it is much more serious than that, it could be that the rear brakes aren't calibrated correctly, In that case I would contact the dealer.

As Walrus said, is the parking brake off?

And...... are you in the right gear? Sounds like it could be doing engine braking of it isn't the brakes..ie if you are in a lower gear while at a higher speed for that gear, the engine will drag on your speed. Check to make sure you are on the right gear especially if you have those gated shifters. Sometimes you think you are in D but you are actually in 3. or D and 4.

You're right about the parking brake but sometimes it's a really obvious thing and if it wasn't asked something simple and easily fix would be glanced over.

Be sure to come back here to update us because someone else down the line might have the same problem and then they'll have an idea as long as they search TN for it.

You means brakes, as in slowing down, not breaks.
