Hey guys, I'm going to be a first time buyer...pretty excited!!
I been reading that some of you guys here got a Type S out the door at $17.5K with 0%APR. I understand you guys may be in different states so you'll have a lower tax rate compared to California...so I'm willing to go $17.5-18K.

Any tips on how I can get such a great deal?
be willing to go up to 18.5k otd. comes with spoiler and alloys and their sh*tty alarm is a "free addon".
have fun lowballing the dealer till you get the price you want and remember walk out if you dont get the price you want, they will chase you to the door and if they dont, go to another dealership and see what price you could get there.

And just know that the Corolla S is just an "S", not a "Type S" as in Honda slang.

i got a question...do dealers usually honor quotes/ads from other dealership. say i get a quote from a dealer in LA. and im going to a dealer 50 miles away...will they honor the quote...or at least give me something similar?
the reason i ask is because a dealer was selling the LE at $14388 net cost in LA! however im 50miles south. i figure i'll add $1000 for the S model.
Awesome, what color are you plan on getting? Auto or manual tranny? Any additional options you plan on looking for?
sorry...iono the official color names...but my 1st choice would be that charcoal color, black, then white. as for options...nothing really...the basic S would be fine. i just think the lip on the S makes SUCH a difference in the car. oh and looking for auto.
It is very common nowadays for dealers to show customers the invoices on the cars they are interested in buying. Make the dealer tell you how much in relation to invoice price he is willing to sell the car for. Cars with more options are going to cost more, of course, so that is why working off of invoice price is so useful in comparing deals.
To keep the dealer honest, you can obtain invoice cost on a car from Edmunds.com. There will be regional ad fees that have to be added to the invoice cost shown on Edmunds, but they should be no more than about $300.
If you have no trade-in, simply call or Email dealers and ask them how much in relation to invoice they will sell you a Corolla S for. It's really that simple.
You can decide what options you want, and the price will vary, but you will still be paying $XXX above or below invoice.
A little advice from an old timer: get the car equipped like you really want it, even if the payment goes up. It would be a shame to fork out the money for a new car and then really wish you had gotten something that would only cost you another $20 or $30 a month.
