2nd Generation my new car and some modding questions

Hey guys if you don't remember me, I use to own a 1992 Toyota Paseo and then I left Toyota after the Paseo's engine blew, and upgraded to a 2005 Mercury Sable LS, and now I am back after my accident with a tree in NJ (damn NJ, claimed two cars in accidents (The sable and also my first car 1998 Honda Accord EX)).

Anyways, My sable was claimed totaled by the insurance company and I got money to put down on a NEW 2010 Toyota Corolla S, which I am still iffy about because of all those recalls with the faulty accelerator pedal and the floor mat that claimed so many cars.

The car salesman told me that this issue was resolved before selling the car because it is illegal to sell the vehicle without resolving the recalled issues.
I don't trust him too much because after all he is a car salesman.

Anyways the point is that I wanted to know where I can find some cheap hp increasing mods for this vehicle.

I have a Short Ram Intake from my Toyota Paseo that I would like the incorporate into this Corolla, and I know I need to probably buy some more section pieces for this intake because obviously the engine sizes and length of the factory air filter and box and the MAFS are different.

What is the length of the intake so that I can install my custom intake from the paseo into it?

Also I know that TRD or any of the performance manufacturers have yet to make things for this year's corolla yet.

I wanted to add a custom catback exhaust to this car as well.

Also the pink coolant in the corolla, they didn't top it off so now I have to buy some but I know that color isn't in stores and that it is still an ethylene glycol based coolant with some phosphate to dye it pink.

I was wondering since the Prestone Long Life yellow has the similar chemistry as the pink, should I just fill the rest of the reservoir up with it. I know Zyrex a product of valvolene made something similar to this, and where can I buy that because that is not something you see sitting at a pepboys or autozone.

Hey....what is the level of the coolant....it doesn't have to be super full. And if you are planning to mod the car the proper way, don't reuse the intake from your previous car....just get one that is made specific for the rolla.

the coolant level is about half or under the half mark, they didn't even fill the windshield washer fluid up either and it is at the 3rd to last line when you pull the dipstick out of the windshield washer reservoir.

talk about good customer service right lol

at least they filled up the gas tank for me which is already at half and I have only owned this car for 2 days lol

I guess I can just sell my custom spectre short ram intake I had for the paseo and get a model specific one since it would probably be optimal performance. I saw the K&N short ram and I wasn't too happy with the hp gain only 6.3hp

I may check out the Fujita and weapon r

I wonder if short ram is better to go with then the cold air intake in this case because I do worry about the potential threat of high water and having the cold air intake suck up the water with the air since it is so low towards the car's tire/wheel- well, maybe if I could get a box to wrap around it

Just take your car back to the dealership, explain to them your situations, and have them top off all of your fluids.

The coolant reservior has two marks on it , Low and Full , full is about halfway on the container , inbetween those is good, and its not the dealers fault if it is low because when they do PDIs (pre delivery inspections) the cars already have enough coolant. DO not Mix the coolants!
