Nummi cars....

Who hear has a car that was manufactured at NUMMI? I just got a 2010 S after my first corolla was totaled in an accident...see here.

I should have done more research but after fooling around today, I realized my car was manufactured at NUMMI. That means it had been sitting around since March. Maybe thats why I got a really good deal...It was the only 5 SPD in my area.

Anyone have any issues with NUMMI cars vs TMMC cars? Any thoughts?

or the end of march as nummi closed 4/1/2010

nothing wrong with nummi, they had everything there running smooth with very good quality control systems in place.

you have one of the last corolla's ever built at nummi.

My car is from NUMMI and haven't had any problems so far. Bought in August 2009 and have ~11,000 miles on it.

LOL! I drive about 20-25k miles in a year. Not saying that is an indicator of anything to come! Glad to hear everything is fine. I listened to "This American Life" and they had a segment on NUMMI. This was before I bought my car. Very interesting.

My car was built in March 2008. VIN was in the 20000 range. So far, knock on wood, though the car has it share of annoyances and what not.

Mines built at NUMMI November 2008...bought it Jan 2009...with 97xx miles on it...its been in for a few things...A/C TSB, Radio TSB, trunk trim coming off....of course the recalls, something with the starting....once in a while when i turn the key all i get is clicking and no start...cant get it to reproduce at the drl so nvr got that fixed yet. Not saying its NUMMI's fault, just the car was assembled there.

i think its a matter of Toyota being interested in what Tesla is doing in electric car world. Tesla makes the Prius technology look silly. and if Toyota wants to bring $$ into the facility then Tesla is ok with that. and from what i read, its only a portion of the closed nummi facility. we will likely see Tesla electric systems in Toyota products
