Should I trade my 2010 Corolla CE to a new 2010 S or XRS?
Hi,
I got a white 2010 Toyota Corolla CE Enhanced convenient Package that I recently bought in April 26, 2010 and currently with 2,198km (1366 miles) on the odo, I bought CE thinking my budget won't be good cuz of my job and that my 1996 corolla with 210,600km won't be a reliable transportation driving ~250 km a day for work.
So, recently I got a raise last month and I am thinking or would like to trade in the my current 2010 corolla CE for either a Corolla S (leather and moonroof package - overhead console box, leather seats and heated front and driver seats, moon roof is included) or Corolla XRS ( leather package - it includes leather seats and heated front and driver seats, moon roof is included) and as for color i am thinking of getting the color White again. This i am going to get a brand new car.
Reason is I like the style of the S or the XRS, and it'll be a car that i would like to enjoy for the next 10 - 15 years of owning the car.
my only issue i see with that is being upside down.... did you put a lot of money down when buying the new one ???? if you are flipped more than 4k then i wouldnt bother at all....... i mean the s and the xrs are nice but they arent all that great...... i am fixing to buy a 2010 s model with leather next week and trade in my tacoma for it ( which not flipped on it breaking even)..... so its going to be my everyday car but my weekend car will be my is-f.. which is a blast to drive but I think in about a year or two will trade in the is-f for a viper..... but i dont think it will be a smart move financially to go to the s or xrs....... unless its just what you want then ...who cares if its what you want get it ...... but if you were able to get like a IS250 or even a nice se camry v6 for almost the same price monthly would you want that over the corolla? i think you would ... so if thats the case then i would pay off what you got and then trade it in after you have equity

What is your opinion of my idea?

jobs can change at any time and also things can happen .... just because you got more money now dont just blow it for another car or upgrade..i mean i know its not what you want to hear but its the smartest thing to do is to keep the other.....how long did you finance the ce?? interest rate ? and what do you owe right now?
Your going to lose so much money. Resale has been affected by the pedal fiasco in the media. A set of decent rims and tires will make you appreciate your car more. Take a look at a few members cars in here with the .38 offset. Spend a little on your ride instead of lining the dealers pocket.

I got a purchase Finance of 0% for 60 months (5 years) with $392.68/month payment.
I am happy with the my 2010 CE (power windows, power locks, a/c, auto trans) ... bettter than my 96 corolla w/just a/c and auto trans. ... my 2010 also saves me a bunch of gas compare to my 96.
i got corolla s 0 % 60 monhs 264$ m/o with 3000 down with everything but nav leather and moonroof
I didn't put any money down. My total price was $22,000 CAD for my 2010 Toyota Corolla CE enhanced convenient package ... I could of gotten an S for the same place in Orlando, FL (in the area my cousin lives)
I compared the corolla from US and Canada, us canadian are getting our car priced higher than you guys down south.
When visiting Orlando, Florida early april ... I tried purchaseing a brand new corolla there to import back to Canada, but dealerships are not allowed to sell brand new cars to Canadian, so my only way was to get my cousin to put it under his name to drie lets say 200 -300 miles and then "sell" it to me so it is a "used car" so that i can import it back to Canada, So i just bit the bullet and bout a Corolla here. When I bought the CE and now knowing I could affored a higher trim, I regret rushing through my purchase.
LOLOLOLOLOLOL got my S for 18300, i love toyota recall i wish i had gotten moonroof for 19,000 oh also they paid for the first 3 months, got free tint and all season mats, got 2 years free maintenance, but wow 22,000 is alot to spend on a corolla CE, would hav gotten ford fusion or acura

Hey, got my corolla ce w/ package for exactly the same price back in Nov 2009. I wouldnt change it if i were you, WAY too much drop in pricing just by driving the car off the dealer's lot. Here's my recommendation: save ur money and in a few years if you have a steady job, get a higher line-up car like an entry lexus/acura or something. In the meantime, just start upgrading your car. Trust me, moonroof package is NOT worth it in Ontario!

OMG OMG OMG .... you guys got such a great deal (compare to mine) .... i am right now. You Southern people are lucky that the mark ups for cars are not super high like here in Canada and that you guys get better add on, but i guess that there are more compititions there than here.

i would just get you a set of wheels like the 18 trd wheels or something from tirerack.com and then put you on a nice lip kit and be done...
