everyday city driving how many miles are you getting on one tank??
how many miles are you getting on a tank on city driving ?
how many miles are you getting on hwy from one destination to the other?
Isnt the formula for calculating mpg is to fill up the car, then drive till its on E again and divide your fuel tank by the total miles driven and would be what you actually averaged? within 1-2 mpg ?
that is how you calculate your mileage. however, you dont have to take the tank all the way to empty. the important part is to completely fill the tank, and to fill the tank consistently every time you plan on checking your mpg, ie: filling at a medium rate of speed and not topping off, or however you prefer. once youve dont that, take your miles driven, divide by the amount of gallons that you put in the car, and you have your actual MPG.
myself, I get about 260-300 miles per tank of 80% city driving. I do have a heavy right foot though, and a 5spd corolla. my average MPG is 27.92.
^^ that about answers it......I do 95% city driving 270 on a tank....I think. average 27 sometimes 25 which is weird because I drive like a granny sometimes because I only rev up to 2500 rpm if that but lately I've been driving more hwy so its been better. All HWY is about 300-315 per tank
I never drive all city, but in mixed city/hwy I average 300-350 miles per tank & get 32-35 mpg average. In all hwy I get 350-400 miles per tank while averaging 34-40 mpg. I always fill-up around a 1/4 tank as it's not good to run the tank to low. If you have any sediment from poor gas it can accumulate in the bottom of the tank & plug up your fuel filter faster. I think it's also important to say if you have a 1.8 or 2.4 if it's not in your signature as that can make a big difference in your mpg.

oh i have a 1.8........... yeh i would think hwy should get about 350 a tank .. as wife has a 05 accord ...we drive back and forth from memphis to mobile which is 383 miles and we still have about a quarter of tank on her accord..... so i would think it would be close to that with the corolla but the accord does have a 17 gal tank to our 13.2.....
if i could get 25 mpg I would be happy.......in the city ..... as the tacoma didnt get anywhere near that ........ i think i was averaging like 16 to 17 .... i know I got around 265 on a tank Hwy with the tacoma

That actually sounds about right. You range should be about right. but mine just empty's so much faster I hate my area......one thing I hate is that once you stop at a light, it turns green its like WTH?! This happens all the time or it turns yellow and you have to speed up. and HWY? nope just Big A$% street Lmao!

My 4runner gets 20 average in mixed driving with a "heavyish" foot sometimes 18
I live in Hawaii, so there isn't really much highway to drive on because I live in the city. There isn't really much places to go to on the highway since the city consists of everything I need. The most miles I usually drive one way on the highway is about 6-7 miles (to school), then back home so I don't really get good "highway" miles. I average and get ONLY 250 city miles (auto, 1.8L). I fill up my tank 11 gallons every time, so I average ONLY about 20-21 mpg. I think I get the worst mpg here on Toyota Nation.

I get 34 mpg 100% city on the highway i get 49 mpg
BTW my car has the old 1ZZ-FE
I can get 49 mpg on the hwy if I keep the speed down to 55 but it decreases as the speed increases.
