Tips and explanations for amplifier wiring.

Hey guys, so I bought an 50w RMS x4 channel amplifier and I have a few questons!

I know the gist of installing an amplifier, but it'd be great if I could have a few things better understood.

I have
Infinity Kappas 62.9i 6.5" in the front doors
Eclipse SE6900's 6x9 in the back
Rockford R300 50W RMS x 4 Channel amplifier
and a JVC Arsenal KDH69

Questions

1) How do I run the power cable through the firewall in our cars? This is very daunting for me and will probably be the most confusing part for my install.

2) Another thing is I need advice about running wires around the car. I plan to put the amp under one of the seats. How many feet of speaker wire should I purchase.

3) How do I run the speaker wire from the amp to the front door panels?

4) Here's my basic understanding of how the wires should be. Correct me if I am incorrect please

Postive Battery terminal -> firewall -> amplifier power
Amplifier ground -> chassis of the vehicle
Turn on lead -> head unit
signal cables on amplifier -> head unit
speaker wires on amplifier -> speakers on front door and rear deck

I guess I am most worried about how to run wires around. If any of you guys could reassure me on how to do it that'd be great. It would also be useful to recommend some wiring kits and speaker wires and gauge sizes.

Btw, today is my birthday, so you HAVE to help me. jk

Thanks a lot for repsonses

Get a scoshe amp wiring kit and like 30ft of speaker wire (to be safe). I drilled a hole through the firewall because my power wire is 4g but my scoshe kit came with an o-ring with a plastic thing to tighten it so there are no leaks. I ran my wires through the door sills. To get the speaker wire to the doors, one will need to cross over the center of the car. Not sure where to run that, but once you get to the door just use the wire bundle on the hinge side to run into the door. The rear speakers you can run through the door sills on one side, under the side of the back seat, up the side of the trunk, and secure it to the underside of the rear deck with zip ties.

The signal and turn on wires I ran out the drivers side of the center console near the pedals, behind the carpet and along the door sills to my amp in the trunk. If your wires are not insulated enough, putting the power and signal wired too close to eachother can cause interference with the sound, but scosche makes quality products and all the wires had adequate insulation. If you're worried about it though, run the power and signal on seperate sides of the car, or as far apart as you can.

I don't know the Corolla but in my other vehicles I just found a grommet in the firewall that had wires going in already and stuffed the new stuff through with a coat hanger. Pop up your door sills. Run the power wires one one side and the RCA cables from the deck on the other side to prevent interference. Run your ground on your amp as short as possible also, this is very important. Be careful with the plastic trim that stuff can break rather easily, don't put too much force on things if it isn't coming look for a screw or clip you may have missed again.

Your wiring seems ok to me. Happy Birthday

haha thanks, another question. Is it worth the hassle to loop new wires through to the speakers, or can i use the ones that came with the car and get wires spliced onto it and extend it to my amp? What would the quality difference be between switching the wires and using the stock wires.

thanks
