questions about 2010 Corolla S

Hello I am looking to buying a 2010 Toyota Corolla S next May. I am wanting anybody to give me some advice on whether or not to buy this car even if it is bad or not. I am trying to make up my mind on it and read reviews and everything about this car. Please help me make my mind up. Thanks.

Pros for this car:
Sleeking looking
Great Mileage
Good looking interior

Cons:
Some interior material is made with cheap plastic, other 2010 cars I've been in have better quality interiors.
Needs more horses.

this car is great, but if I could have afforded it I would of gotten a mazda 3 isport with 197 horsies turboed. But this car is nice too. You should definately go test drive different cars to see what you like. Take your time too, definately. Inspect quality and stuff before you buy.

I love mine. I bought it as a daily driver to save gas on my commute. I use it alot. I have had no problems other than the thin paint. I keep it well maintained and it has served me well. The "S" model is nothing more than a 4cyl in a plastic dress. I would not calssify it as a sporty. It looks good but dont expect it to hold up to racing people or handling like a true sports car. I have heard the XRS model may be closer to that. But the "S" did make me feel better about driving a corolla because of the look and was worth the extra 2k or so. Hope this helps.

Thanks so so much for your advice and info! I will definitely go look around first of course. I like the Honda Civics too but not fond of the round front they have now...ha. But I also like the Honda Accords too but I have heard people say they are just too long.

Thank you so much! This helps alot! Yeah I love the S style the best. I am not a fast driver so wouldn't use it for racing anyways..ha. I go the speed limit. I am 27 years old and married without kids so if it happens to where we want kids then this would be a good car I suppose. I have until next May to decide though just wanted everybodys input about it.

if you are looking at kids with it .. just be careful as the back seat is very very tight with a rear facing car seat as the passenger would have to ride next to baby and not in the front seat unless you want to eat the dash .......... but after the first year you would be fine... once the seat goes front facing.....

The Speed3 and the Corolla are not even in the same class or price range. That is like someone saying that they want to buy a Subaru Impreza and someone saying that the Evo is better, doesnt make much sense.

In all reality, the 2009+ Corolla S is a good value for the money. Great mileage, great looks, and if you spend a little on some interior upgrades (leather, sunroof, jbl sound, bluetooth) and it is much better. The backseat is a bit tight on space, the carseats will definitely make it worse. I have used both rear and forward facing seats, the rear facing seats are not too bad if you put them in the middle seat. Either way, once the carseat is in the backseat isnt of much comfort (unless you offset the seat, which for safety should be avoided if possible).

back seat is very tight but the mazdas have even less room in the back as well as the front.(non hatch back version)

whats the interior of the civic made from? it's been a while since i've driven one but i thought it was plastic as well.

mazda was my first choice but the extra cost and smaller interior made me go with the corolla. imo the corolla drives the smoothest and quiestest of the main three (corolla/civic/mazda).

Definitely. IMO The Corolla trades performance for a conservative, quiet ride.
In fact, the Corolla has one of the quietest rides I've ever experienced, especially in this class.

Both of these posts are correct. My wife has 09 Mazda 3i and I have 09 Corolla LE. We take the Corolla everywhere as it gets better mpg, more room, plus hers is stock. The 3 seems to have a bit more punch, esp off the line, but I like driving my Corolla more overall. Side-by-side, I like my ride more than hers, but that's just my 2c.
