30000 Maintenance interval

My '10 Corolla is nearing the 30,000mi mark and I was curious if there is anything other than tire rotation, Oil and filter, and cabin and engine air filters that needed to be done. That is all that is stated in the maintenance manual. Nevertheless, I called the dealer to see what they recommended and to the tune of about $341 they would change all filters, oil change, rotate tires, change spark plugs, change wiper blades, inspect everything, and lube the chassis. Um, WOW!!! I do my own oil changes and tire rotations, so this seems astronomical to me. The maintenance manual is quite vague as to what really should be done other than oil changes and tire rotations. I can't imagine that the spark plugs would need to be replaced yet.

Anyway, I am just looking for some input as I put about 130miles on it daily. Thanks

wow you have a lot of miles! well you dont need to change the spark plugs until ~100K mark because of the type of spark plug our cars have, I forgot the name of them. and the wipers should last for awhile....sometimes years. Just take a paper towel and soak it in rubbing alcohol and wipe the wiper blade down and should make them last longer and Im not sure about the chassis. Just get the standard maintenance stuff done

You can click on this dealer's maintenance page to see what's supposed to be done at 30,000 miles, just select your Corolla from the appropriate menu item. As for the price, that's why good private mechanics are worth their weight in gold!

It is stickied in the General FAQ / DIY thread.

The thanks button is probably gone because it's an older post.
