Well I just hit 5500 miles on my S and am Disappointed for the first time. Not with my car. Nothing broke its still running fine and I love it.
But I stopped by the dealer i bought it from... and they had a BEAUTIFUL silver XRS. None were in stock when i bought mine and they could not get ahold of one. Makes me wish a waited the few extra months. Could have saved up more cash and gotten a better car for a lower payment. ehh well.
Well... thats about all i had to say.

Dude, the XRS is not that much better. Its not like you had the choice of an IS or the Corolla. An extra inch in wheel, rear brakes, and 10 more hp is hardly worth having regrets about.

Just be happy with the extra 25% mpg that you will get as gas prices are on the rise!

Thats a good way to put it i guess. I like the XRS rims alot better. And there are more parts available, which is the only thing i dont like about my S. Hopefully some more parts come out soon.

Think of it this way... I wanted an S (for the body kit, rims, spoiler, fogs, etc) and got an LE as it was cheaper. So I added custom spoilers, custom wheels are being finished painting tonight hopefully, I added fogs. Eventually I will build my car up to a "Custom S" as i've dubbed it. This gives you more to customize while getting the better MPG! If you wanted rear disk brakes, swap them out! Save up and get some new rims, etc

The XRS is nice, but the 1.8L is just as nice when it comes to fuel economy which I am jealous of. Besides the S looks "almost" the same. Upgraded rims, and springs installed on an S and you have a nice looking ride.
And to those who belittle the XRS to nothing more but 1" larger rims, rear discs, and 10 more HP... I don't know where to start correcting you. All I have to say is WOW, so much more than that, but it has been covered before so I don't need to tell you that you are wrong.
If it makes you happy, then upgrade to the car you want.
I would if i wouldnt lose so much money. I was already upside down when i bought my S. I was in a really messy live and learn situation. I wouldnt be able to afford the payment at that point.
Its no big deal though. When I win the lottery ill just pay off my S and buy myself a new Camaro.

Not belittling the XRS, just trying to make the dude feel better. Just think of it this way, be thankful you even have a car and don't let not getting the XRS ruin your experience with your S.

Im just bummed i didnt wait. I love my car regardless. Maybe one day there will be more parts for the 1.8 and i could give a stock XRS a run for its money after a grand or so, and be unique at the same time

I haven't seen a mt xrs come thru our dealer since an 09 demo
car and driver is having a program to save the manuals and apparently less than 10% of cars are manuals these day what a bummer. It will increase if people try harder to get hands on manual cars. But at the dealer I go to my friends in the oil change area have only seen one xrs with a 5 speed Auto
