Scary sound during hard breaking.

Today I was driving through a parking lot, about 10mph. Some guy decided it was okay to pull out of the parking stall like his making a gateway. Well I had to slam my breaks all the way down. IDK if it was the ABS that sounds like this, but it was a very distinctive creach. It sounded like something broke. Well after driving away I started to hear this light vibration somewhere in the front. The vibration goes with the acceleration, as the car about to shift it stops and then vibrates again in second gear. BTW its only during a light acceleration.

I had to brake hard occasionally because of idiots who drive through the parking lot like that and of course on the road too but I never had a problem....I wouldn't know what could possibly be wrong a new car.....clips sounds like a possibility

i brake hard all the time because idiots are always on the roads im on. i never had that issue with clips but it sounds like it might be a brake problem. sounds like the piston in the caliper might be slow at retracting back or stuck.

Ohh man sounds serious. If any of the above is the case, would the car still be able to brake? That vibration sound I mentioned it sounds like something vibrating in the wind, something rather small.

Could you be more specific to where the clip was, and what it holds. That way I know what to look for tomorrow. Also how bad was that rattle you described?

probably not a brake problem then. but if it was, braking would be fine at lower speeds.

not quite sure how to describe it but it was a clip near the wheel. you have to remove it to change your turn signals. it was a rattle under the car. going 20+mph would cause it.

ohh ok, so it wasn't anything that was holding the brake or the wheel it self. Was it those clips on the fenders?
