'10 Corolla Firewall - Amp power wires

Hi All,

I have carefully read through everything there is on this site regarding pushing an amp power cable through the firewall.

Some have drilled, others have pushed it through with the existing wire bundles. I am still a little uncertain as to what to do.
I used to have a 2006 Tacoma (much more room, and was able to push the 2, 8-Guage wire next to the wire bundles) The Corolla doesn't seem nearly as easy.

Does anyone have pictures or exact details as to where I can get through the firewall... of course without breaking something

It seems like the most accessible spot is behind the glovebox. Any help is appreciated!

thanks in advance.

I already installed a Pioneer AVH-p3200bt (double din) with ease. now just trying to power the speakers and my sub.

I used a coat hanger to fish a pair of #14AWG wires through the opening in the tire well, was super easy, just tape up any exposed edges on the hanger before starting so avoid shorts.

I taped the wire to the hanger first, then fed the hanger from the engine compartment to the pedal well. From there, I pulled the wire through and (because my mod required it) fed it over the behind the glove via the back of the stereo.

I went through the bunch of wires on the drivers side...u can take the "nipple" out and feed the power cable there if it'll fit then put silicone around it, or if the cable wont fit, u can lift the bottom of the rubber garment and feed the wire through there and silicone the gap (as theres going to be a pretty big one), then run the wire behind the gas pedal and through the fusebox and door sills

thanks for the help. I will try that tomorrow. I'm not too keen on drilling!

I'll let you know how I did.

See instructions in the provided installation instruction link (it's not AMP related but does show fishing of wires thru the grommets). Also, you don't have to remove the grommets for this procedure.

that is excellent! thanks.

I was able to push 1 wire through the driver's side grommet. now I am routing the wire back to the trunk to the amp and sub.
I just bought this corolla 1 week ago, so I am learning all about it... like how to drop the rear seats! lol.
I'm waiting for my new alpine 4 channel amp to arrive so I can power all 4 speakers...
it puts out 50 W rms x4. I'm thinking that around Christmas I will upgrade my speakers... but until then, will the stock speakers hold up???

I had pushed a 0ga wire through the driver's side grommet no problem on my 2010 corolla.
