Power Door Locks

Tried finding the answer in the Forum search before posting this but, I couldn't find what I was looking for.
I saw the suggestions for the other door locking and unlocking options but, nothing for this.
I hit a button or a combination of buttons on my key fob by mistake today(car was turned off) and now, the doors automatically lock just as soon as the car is started.
Thought I had it back to normal after trying a couple of different combinations involving the key fob and opening and closing the doors but, it eventually goes back to the doors being locked once car is started and not in motion.
I want to get it back to the default setting of the doors locking only after the car is put in gear.
How is that done?
My car is a automatic 09 sport model.
Key fob just has the buttons for unlocking and locking the doors, unlocking the trunk and the panic button.

I would have to look at the manual too.

Tried for the last half hour what is in the manual and, I still can't get it back to the default setting.
There is something very odd happening.
Here is what has happened since trying what the manual recommends.

After getting out of the car, I locked the doors with the remote.
Used the remote to unlock the drivers door and it worked but, the other three doors wouldn't unlock as per usual when pressing the unlock button quickly a second time.
Got to the point where once I unlocked the drivers door, it would instantly lock again by itself.
At that point I had to use the key to unlock the drivers door.
Only by being faster in turning the key before it locked by itself again, was I able to unlock the door.
From that point on, I kept the window down!

At one time, I was actually able to drive the car without the door locking even doing more than 30mph.

Thought I had it back to normal.
Doors locked when I took it out of park while the car was started.
Doors unlocked when I put it back into park.
After putting it in park, I had one of the doors open as I was taking stuff out of the car, and then, the doors all locked by themselves, even with the door still open.
I didn't touch the key fob at all.
It's almost like it's on the setting where the doors automatically lock again after a certain period of time if you don't open one of them once you've pressed the unlock button on the fob.

Has anyone else had this kind of problem?

I was not trying to change the door locking/unlocking process when all of this first started.
Just accidently hit a button on the fob as I was getting out of the car.
I've done that a couple of times before and nothing like this happened.

Sounds like a stop by the dealer is in order.

Is it possible that a button is stuck on your key fob? Try driving using your valet key, get out of the car somewhere away from your home (really just out of range of your keyless-entry controls,) and see if the car locks again.

Did take it to the dealer and I was told that a short in the driver side door was the cause of the problem.
Switch was replaced free of charge.
Kind of odd though that the problem started only after I accidently hit one of the buttons on the key fob and prior to that, there were no problems at all with the power locks.
Must have just been a coincidence.

Anyway, just passing this along in case anyone else experiences this.

I have a driver side door lock problem too and this is the only thread I found about it. I took it to the dealership today and they told me I need a new door lock actuator. They priced it at $479.95 + tax. I think it's too pricey and tried checking for the parts myself. This is the best I found yet http://www.toyotapartszone.com/oem/t...040-06180.html I used the part number they gave me to do the search.

Even after having the switch replaced, the problem returned a couple of weeks later.

This is what the dealer did after the problem returned.
They replaced the lock on the front passenger side door due to a short circuit.
I got the impression that they weren't absolutely positive about there being a short circuit on the passenger door because no codes came up indicating this. It's what the technician thought might've been the problem. So far, it appears that he was right.
Since the passenger side door lock was replaced back in December, there haven't been any problems.
I find it kind of odd that both front doors had shorts in the locking system.
There have also been a couple of other electrical glitches from time to time that also make me wonder about the wiring.

Not sure if a short circuit is the cause of the problem you are having but, you might want to have it checked out.
The technician at my dealership said that he had never come across a problem like that with the power locks.

They told me they had to call Toyota to find out what tests they had to run to figure out the problem. It was written in the invoice that they performed a series of electrical tests to rule out components.
The problem I was having with the lock was when I tried locking the doors using the key remote. I had to try a few times for it to lock. Also when I put it in gear it would not lock automatically but it made a sound like it was trying to.

I found the invoice for the door lock repair and it was the actuator that was replaced.
It was covered under warranty.
The issue with your lock is a bit different than the issues I had with mine but, maybe a defective actuator causes a variety of problems?
