Lubricate the Gear Shifting Stick.

It has been a long time since I last posted on here...Anyway, I would like to lubricate the gear shift stick because it makes some noise when I move the shifter from P to D...I try spraying some silicone lubricant into the shifting area but it has made no improvement.

I would like to remove the surface plastic covering but how exactly should I remove it?

I was wondering what happened to you. back Eric. The plastic cover pieces just snap off just like the pieces around the stereo. There were some threads about putting LED's in connecting to the power wires in that area. You may be able to do a search & find that info there for taking off the trim. There were also some people putting shift boots on the auto & I believe it was discussed there too.

I've got a 5-speed so I've never taken those pieces off but I'm sure it's pretty simple. Don't be such a stranger from now on Eric!
