Ok I scrolled the first ten pages and did a search and found nothing on this. If there is already a thread Im sorry for not finding it and please post a link to the thread.
If you go to the Toyota website and pick "build your Corolla" there is no option to select the XRS trim. This is leading me to believe that if I want to buy a new XRS I have to buy a 2010 while there are still a few left at the dealerships. I was hoping to wait until the 2011 model came out...
So what is the deal? Is the XRS going to die with the 2010 model?

This is REGIONAL, so depending on where you live, you may or may not see the XRS on the Build Your Corolla page, which is still showing 2010 models (I am in Los Angeles, and there is no XRS nor XLE). Also, no one here yet knows what is going to happen for 2011, as no information has surfaced yet.
If anything, I believe the last 2010 Corollas have been or will be built real soon, and most of that production is probably the better selling model grades like the LE, S and Base models.
hmmm there is a new 2010 XRS like 230 miles away from me at a dealer that I can get for under $17000, and I just totaled my 2009 Civic Si. I was hoping to wait until spring to buy a new car (an XRS or an Si, but most likely an XRS) to save some money up but now I'm scared to not take this deal now while it is hot.

I think it may be the zipcode you entered. The XRS is uncommon in my area so it doesnt even come up on the website when I enter my zip

If it's an XRS that you want than you'd better get it while you can. With the 2.4L engine not being used anymore odds are good that there will not be an XRS in 2011. I wouldn't be surprised to see the XRS at a later date with the 2.5L but who knows when.

That Xrs seems like a good deal for under $17k for brand new! I got my Xrs used w/ 24,xxx miles for about $17k. If you really want it, I'd say go for it, but if you want to risk waiting to see if there will be a 2011 Xrs and see what new options there is wait for it. But I doubt those 2011 Xrs's (if there will be) will be for under $17k like the one you found.

Ah if the 2011 Xrs has the 2.5, that'd be amazing! But I wouldn't think so. I forgot who said this, but it was in the other thread when we were discussing if the Xrs and Xle models would be canned for 2011.
But they said that the Xrs was mainly produced to get rid of the extra 2ZZ's and 6spd manual trannys since the Celica was out of production? and then it was gone in 07.
Now the 10thGens came back with the Xrs, maybe to get ride of the extra 2.4L 2AZ's since the new Camry's and 2ndGen tC's will now be equipped with the 2.5 2AR's
If anything, if the Corolla Xrs does get the 2.5, I'd bet if be for the 11thGen Xrs

My thought too but since each gen is running 5-6 years that may be a while.
