Door lock answer back, 2010 Corolla LE

Does anyone have an idea how to disable the "answer back"? It drives me crazy...there must be a way.

It was very simple for my 2010 Tocoma but the the same procedure did not work for the Corolla.

Thanks!

Dan

"answer back" is the beep when the lock/unlock is pressed so you know it was pressed.

Whats wrong with a beep? Atleast its not like the honda where it uses the horn... Annoying as hell especially in the garage.

Not sure of the method to disable it yourself, but I know the it can be done at the dealer with the computer plugged in to it.

I would hate it without the beep. It sure helps to let me know that I did lock it.

Indeed, I hate it when cars answer back uses the horn... to loud

Ours is just nice as is, not too loud not too quiet. Lets us know if that we did lock it and unlock it

OK, the answer back is when you lock or unlock your doors you hear a single beep to unlock and a double beep to lock. As my wife leaves @ 6am I am sure that it is upsetting the neighbors. As long as the lights flash that should be good enough for me.

Thanks for the replies!

IMHO, I don't see how just two beeps can upset the neighbors?

Its not too loud to wake them up. I can't even hear it if I was to lock my car from inside the house.

I would understand if it were those cars that has the answer back that uses the horn, but thats only when you lock it, not unlock it if I"m not mistaken.

I stand in my foyer and unlock my car and have to really listen to hear it... I have a hard time figuring it would "annoy" ANYONE! In fact, the wife has had to grab something from my car and had asked me 3 times if i unlocked it when she was at the front door! I am seriously confused how it is any way bothersome. I leave the house at 5:30am and wife says she cannot hear the beeping (BUT SHE SURE CAN HEAR MY MAGNAFLOW EXHAUST! lol).

As I said before, my wife's 09 Mazda 3i uses the horn as unlock and IT WAKES ME! Crazy annoying, but she only works like 10-8ish usually and hardly ever a super early shift. As far asit beeping during lock... it does. Which is what i hear every day she comes home for the night to tell me "look like you were cleaning!"... it's kinda cool, lol

Heck, it's almost winter. The neighbours will be closing their doors and windows soon enough, if they haven't already. Besides, if they don't like it, tell them to sue you. Hahah That should be good in court!

My 2000 Caravan beeps when you lock and flash, (no-beep) when you unlock.
Makes sense. When you're walking away the beep will let you know it's activated. On Unlock, you're already facing the car, the flash will be enough.
