does air piping size effect performance?

i have a k@n drop in with the vapor filter removed and the air piping relocated in front of the lower grill. i was wondering if changing the piping to a larger size would make a big enough difference to offset the hassle of changing it.

They are both correct. It would not be worth it for this car. However, the diameter of tubing used for intake/header/exhaust do make a difference, just like the size of the engine makes a difference. To squeeze the most performance out of any car though you need to take special care to make sure you use the right size pipings. Bigger is not always better.
