Possible electrical issues
I have a 2009 Corolla S model and today for the second time in a month, the power door locks have gone haywire.
Doors will lock on their own, relock instantly after I unlock them and other strange things.
Had the driver side lock switch replaced (had shorted out according to the dealer mechanic) last month and up until today, the locks worked as they should.
I found it odd that it had "shorted" out considering that the car is just a little over 2 years old.
Then I got thinking about some of the other electrical issues that have happened over the last two years and now, I'm wondering if there is a problem with the electrical system overall.
Couple of other examples are:
Passenger side airbag "off" indicator will light up when starting the car and stay on, even though there isn't anyone or anything on the seat at the time.
That has happened a handfull of times at least over the last two years.
Normally, neither of the passenger side airbag indicators(on/off) are lit up if the seat is empty.
Been a couple of issues with the factory CD unit.
Other than the power door lock problem, the rest happen so infrequently that I keep forgetting to get them checked out when I do have the car at the dealer for other things.
The car is going to the dealer Friday and I'm going to ask that they do a more thorough look into all of this.
So, I'm just curious if anyone else has had similar issues
